The papa-to-be in my house is on a nightly ice cream habit -- even when I forego it in favor of fruit. He still has a magic metabolism, however, so there is no sympathy weight gain (the fucker). The other night he discovered a flavor of ice cream called Cake Batter It was really fucking good. Tasted just like Betty Crocker yellow cake batter, and not fake at all. What exactly is it that gives cake batter its flavor? It's not vanilla. And it's not eggs, b/c the stuff smells like that out of the box. Is it some unpronouncable chemical?

Someone introduced a container of Ben & Jerry's organic brownie ice cream into our freezer the other night, and the stuff tasted like crap. What are the inorganic ingredients in Ben & Jerry's ice cream that make it taste so good?
