I loved the place. though I do wished I'd stayed someplace closer- for the whole neighborhood- I picked the wrong area in which to stay

It was dull around here because TM didn't post any juicy gluteus maximus** photos.
**Phrase courtesy of the youngest Fugee Niece who informed me, after watching "Tangled" last night, that Maximus, the horse's name, meant butt. I told her that was wrong, but gluteus maximus was the largest muscle in your butt -- to which she replied "Right, it's the butt!"

LawTalkers has taken over my life
My two main thoughts while watching Cake last night:
1. NotBob song parody: "And Sebby don't given a damn about any trumpet-playing band. It ain't what he calls rock 'n roll."
2. The last time we saw them was at our last ACL with RT and gang (I think RT was the only lawtalker who went over to Cake with us, but could be wrong). 2004, I believe.
Really great show. I forgot how fun they are live. First of four nights at The Troubadour. No opening act, two sets.

Ah.. Guess that should have been obvious.
It's kind of hard to believe how little music I listen to these days. Although I did buy the new Radiohead album today.
ETA: Cedar Rapids was also a lot of fun today.

I have Pandora playing about 90% of the time I am working, so I hear most music that way. When I am in the car, I usually am in traffic, so it's Howard 100 or 101 then.

I think 2004 was one of the years I went to ACL. I don't think I saw Cake then. I don't mind them now, but they used to open a lot at the local club in college, and I only need a little Cake.
I follow Mike Doughty (formerly of Soul Coughing) on Twitter. He's posted recently that he thought of Cake as his competition back in the 90's. I see the comparison (wordy, sing-spoken alt-rock) and I prefer Soul Coughing.
It is five a.m. and you are lis-ten-ing to Los Angeles.

Went to dinner tonight and pulled out my iPhone. Up pops a wireless network called "Chinasky". Nwtf?
Well, it was a Chinese restaurant. I didn't join the network though.

A race too tough for Penske...
....even in his prime.

Trying to do this other than on bike sounds relatively insane,** though skiing would be better than hiking or running.
**On second thought, even biking it is completely insane.
