Here's one with Sympathy For The Devil. Keith played all the bass parts. Looks pretty together to me.

Re: Not Bob's Continuing Adventures on LinkedIn.

I think someone here got an EU passport a while ago under one of the laws applying to people with ancestry in a European country. Spain is opening a right of return for people with Jewish ancestry pre-1492, so I may be able to get an EU passport. Was this difficult? Is this actually worth it? Who was it who got that?

I think it was Less who got it. I'm pretty sure that there's some speculation in the RT family that we came to the New World due to some persecution, and the last name was bestowed in 1492, so we think we might have been assimilating. But I have no idea how hard it is to prove.

As RT says, it was Less. I am failing to get the Itie thing as I believe my g-pa turned on his home country the moment he got to to West Virginia. It would be very much worth it to me- not that I would use it too much, but my kids can then live and work anywhere in the EU.

Well, if we try it, we'll tell you how hard the proof is. We have a stretch from 1492 to about 1560 where the proof is a tad shaky (probably because playing converso in Southern France was almost as tenuous as in Spain), but the line after that is easy to show.

I'll have to try to flag less on one of his fly-bys here.

Less was Germany, and each country has its own hoops. He is on FB if you want to contact him.

What's the process? My father was born in Italy. My mother born in the US but grew up in Italy. Doable?

It boils down to if they renounced their Italian citizenship before your birth, I think. I can send you the email from the counselate that outlines the test. My nonna was still I-tie when my mom was born and that should hav ebeen enough, but Italy doesn't care about nonna, only nonno matters and I'm afraid mine naturalized as soon as he got here.

Re: No Faith in the Moral Standards of the Players as a Group

http://www.myitalianfamily.com/dual-...if-you-qualify Your dad (or your mom if she became an Italian citizen) must not have naturalized before you were born. I think naturalization was pretty common as a very early step once here, unfortunately.

When I looked into doing this for Ireland, the rule was that your children born AFTER you had obtained dual citizenship were citizens, but it wasn’t retroactive. Since we’d already had one kid at that point, I didn’t bother — siblings have enough shit to be angry about and we didn’t want to add “Dad didn’t love me enough to activate Irish citizenship in time for my birth” to the mix.

I think this varies greatly based on national laws, so YMMV. Maybe Italian citizenship is worth less so they give it away?

I don't know about individual Irish citizenship, but they really do have to pay companies to establish Irish citizenship. The tax rate is effectively negative for something like the first decade there. It's hard to imagine a less valuable citizenship than that.

You forget the first law of corporate tax incentives: these are payments to encourage one to act in an economically irrational way. And crazy is as crazy does. Best of luck with your new Irish company.
