I understand how chairs work. There was anon donor who wanted one named after Tribe. Tribe evidently thought it a bit odd to have a chair named after him while he's still on the faculty, so asked that the honor be postponed until his retirement. I asked merely why not even longer, since the chair will go on, in theory, forever.
|
If he retires and stays on as professor emeritus, he'll keep the title till they grab it out of his cold, dead hand. Therefore the chair won't be named after him until he's not around to feel embarrassed by the honor.

Your consideration is appreciated.

Which was my point--Tribe doesn't expect to retire from that job. Are there any plausible circumstances in which Harvard would force him to retire?

Re: Congratulations Slave and Catrin!!!
22yo college grad has put her virginity up for bids on Bunny Ranch website. Latest bid is $3.8M.
Man, that sounds pretty valuable. Makes me feel bad that I already gave mine away! Good news, though, is Flinty has some definite upside if he'll just embrace the entrepreneurial spirit.

Das boosit.
I cashed out, dabbled back in and saved 25% of my portfolio. The people telling you not to cash out are the ones who don't want you further depressing the prices as they cash out.

Re: Congratulations Slave and Catrin!!!
If a mom has 6 kids, how does a responsible doctor (a) agree to provide fertility treatment and (b) allow the mother to carry 8 fetuses to term? (I thought that fertility docs generally reduced to 2 or 3 because of the usual concerns over multiples . . .
