For the LAers

A bunch of friends of mine are in the Mutaytor, and their shows are a hell of a lot of fun. One of them just sent this e-mail off to one of my lists, and I thought I'd pass it on to the LA contingent here (and anyone who might be visiting LA this weekend).

I think at least two of you live within walking distance of this event. Sounds like a really awesome time.

if yer not too allergic to the drive to the westside - we'll be playing a free show out at the venice beach carnivale this sat. we'll be at the corner of Windward Ave. and Speedway in Venice Beach. we go on around 8:30pm. the event goes on all day and is modeled after the actual carnivale festival in venice italy, complete with all the masks and costumes and shit.

as it is an outdoor show - we'll be given the rare opportunity to use lots and lots of scary pyrotecnics - if yer into that kind of thing

.....or sit around yer house still hungover and full of regret from what you did friday night.

see if i give a shit.

Crap. I wanted to see Carnivale this year but we'll be in Boston this weekend for Mr. Man's year-not-to-be-disclosed college reunion. I'm always away for the cool stuff it seems. And yes, walking distance.

A good thing

It's nice to read things about celebrities and celeb wives other than what they are wearing and how much they are spending. Chris Rock's wife took a group of Brooklyn at-risk teens to South Africa. Very cool.

Went to school in Boston, did he? Boston University? Emerson College? Fisher College? New England College of Optometry? Northeastern? Suffolk University? Wheelock College?

As hard as it is to believe, BU and BC are unrelated institutions.

I think it would be ideal if people went back to wearing repp ties. That way, if someone is wearing a Harvard tie, one might say, "Oh, sure he went to Harvard."
