No. Sort of tastes like game. I really like it actually. Rabbit stew is quite tasty. When I ate meat, I used to like the more game-y meats as opposed to cow etc. More flavor. Chicken is so bland.

Now, MR, no matter what you think of her posts, you have to admit that sterilization is a little extreme.

Testing your theory.

The U.S. attorney in Seattle has used a Patriot Act provision to charge 15 people with smuggling marijuana money out of this country as part of a multimillion-dollar drug operation based in Canada.

Stupid Patriot Act.

OK. Done.

So a friend of mine is up visiting from Houston. He says I should come to visit sometime. I have never been to Texas. He says Houston's a pretty nice place. Except for the oppressive humidity and the bugs. He also tells me that San Antonio would be a fun vacation destination. But, I've had another friend who lived in San Antonio tell me that there's nothing but cactus and scorpions in San Antonio. Who's right?
San Antonio -- nice weekend trip if you are close enough to hop a quick Southwest flight. Riverwalk, alamo, etc. takes about a day or a day and a half to cover. I can't imagine what you would do there for a longer vacation. Maybe with kids - SeaWorld, etc. I would think it would be kind of dull for adults without kids, but what do I know?

I think the Sports Guy (high, Coltrane) said it nicely when he said that no one has spent 8 consecutive days in Houston who didn't live there. There's a lot to do in Houston and it's a nice place to live, but I wouldn't think of it as a vacation destination. I have never seen a scorpion in SA, but I wasn't really looking.

That's so not helpful. Please see ncs' post.

He hated living there. Every day of it. Of course he hated Chicago, too. Well, not really Chicago - Naperville. Of course the fact that he did jail time there probably didn't help.

That is very harsh. I just wanted to help you in case you believed anything that knucklehead told you.

Seriously, cactus and scorpions? Did he really live there or just see on "Old West" poster with the CA desert standing in for Texas? Maybe an old Clint Eastwood cowboy movie?

SA is one of the 10 largest cities in the US. The only cactus and scorpions are on crappy tshirts in the Mercado near some spectacularly good margaritas.

Of course, the truth of the matter is that he thought anyone not from Texas who pondered a trip to SA not revolving around the Final Four, the NBA All-Star game, or the playoffs would believe anything.

Rescue Me

Anyone else watching this? I'm not a Denis Leary fan --- in fact, I hated hated hated him during his stand-up and MTV spot days --- but I'd heard good things about "The Job" and regretted not getting into it after it was cancelled. So I watched this.

Wow. Good show (so far). Basically a retread of "The Job" except in a FDNY firehouse. Strong language, graphic depiction of death and dead people, good picture of how basic humanity also motivates the racism and sexism of the environment. Has a kind of "Dead Like Me" and "Six Feet Under" feel to it, as Leary's character is literally haunted by the six people he's watched die in fires or at 9/11.

Broadcast networks are incapable of producing a show with an anti-hero at its center without trying to make em's obvious character flaws somehow lovable. They've left all the difficult and interesting characters to HBO and now basic cable.

I'll probably never wear my pvc microskirt again because I'm too old and haven't been to a rave in like, forever. This kind of makes me sad.
