Crap crash test results, crap reliability, crap handling, crap motors and trannies? And no one at the big three can figure out why they suck?

Say what you will, but I want one of these:
The number Iharra and Gouzowski will most likely recite when describing the Shelby Cobra GT500 is 450, as in 450 horsepower and 450 pounds-feet of torque generated from a supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V-8 engine. The 5.4-liter engine was first put into service in the limited-edition 2000 SVT Mustang Cobra R, a car that Car and Driver magazine ran from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and from 0 to 100 in 11 seconds -- without a supercharger. From Ford's website

I can see a little lust for that motor. Ford makes some great cheap powerful cars, with the emphasis on cheap and powerful. When I was 17, sure, I wanted a 5.0 really bad. Or a Saleen, or whatever. But, have you been in even a nicer Mustang? They are shit. Plastic everywhere. And they fall apart terribly. It's like the Wrangler: dumb kids under 25 want them and don't force the market to make them more practical, long-lasting or reliable.
If I had $35k to spend and wanted to buy a car like that, I would buy a used C5 or change my budget and buy a C6. GM is lights years ahead in true muscle car technology. All Ford can do is make a profitable, but crappy, pony car, and many variations thereon.
Sure, the Cobra R was great in the numbers, but would you really want a car without a stereo, AC, power windows or just about any sound deadening? It was a purpose-built track car.

Lots of lust for the motor and the shape and stripes. I'm a sucker for Shelby stuff, especially Shelby stuff with stripes. One day, when I have some money, I'm going to get a 427 Cobra.
I had a GT from the '94-'98 series. Sure, it was cheap inside, but it had everything -- stereo that thumped, leather, power everything, plus that motor. Oh, that motor. All that for $23,000. I loved that car, axle hop on bumpy corners and all.

Anyone here ridden the new FZ1 yet? Any comments?
More upright than the basic rocket, looks like a nice commute, but I can't find anyone that's ridden one, and they're not here yet for tests.

Good thing the Malay numeral system is Base 9.*
Malaysian accountant discovers there's a gruesome downside to his Benzo's biometric ignition system. No word yet on whether the thieves are in the chili supply business.
I have heard carjacking was virtually unknown before the late 1980s, and was an unintended consequence of the development of ignition-defeating car alarms. If you can't hotwire an empty car, just wait for the owner to return with the key . . . .
*No, it isn't.

Honda
Alex,
I know you did a link to a Honda commercial before, but this one seems a little different. Maybe longer. Maybe I just don't remember.
Is this the same one?

It's still a Chrysler. Probably still corners like a yacht.
Confirmed this weekend in Palm Springs...the Lexus SC400 is officially an old man's car. In a city where every 10th car is a Bentley, we calculate that every 5th car is a Lexus SC400 driven by a bluehair.

It's basically a Mercedes E-class with a viper drivetrain. That's pretty badass.

I'd never buy one for the size, for starters, but I am all in favor of 425 bhp cars.
