Yeah, I'm sure it wasn't a real muscle pull; maybe just a strain.
Internet chat boards?! My old guy doesn't even have email. Or know how to store phone numbers into his cell phone.

I have heard that abstinence heals sore muscles, but have never tried it.

dtb/B&B and I were talking about long term aerobic muscle activities lasting close to an hour. From what I can gather, you're discussing quick twitch activities lasting about 10 seconds.

lessons learned by RT's friends so you don't have to
I know that this should be obvious to most of you, but an otherwise intelligent person that I know had no idea: If a cop pulls you over, even if it's for something really stupid, pull over. Do not enter a parking garage, go up six flights, park, get out of the car and be surprised when the cuffs are slapped on your wrists.
This sort of thing makes even your non-criminal law lawyer friends cranky.

Your otherwise intelligent friend is lucky that's all that happened. A father with his kids in the van didn't pull over fast enough for a state trooper so the trooper rammed his van and pulled a gun on him. He spent 36 hours in jail. He was just lucky he's white or it could have been worse.

Yeah. Vehicular evasion is a felony here, but the charge was thrown out. She did spend a night in the slammer, and is right pissed off about the whole thing.

So what did she think the flashing lights were for anyway? Pull over when you get to your regular parking spot or it's otherwise convenient?

I'm not entirely clear on that. I think her reasoning was "I'm going 2 miles an hour, and there are cars behind me. It's not like I'm going anywhere that he can't eventually catch up with me."

Perhaps the first floor would have supported that point better.
(It's not an unserious point, given the number of criminals who seem to acquire blue lights)

she's pissed off? at herself? there are countries where there is no law, if she is looking for that panacea.

She's pissed at the cop. I think it never occured to her that she'd ever be arrested, so it must be someone else's fault.

I still don't understand. Why did she think she didn't have to pull over?

I've known people like that. It might just be a combination of obliviousness and self-rightiousness (they couldn't really mean "me pull over now.").

Sure, but doesn't that lead you to think, "Gee, he must be trying to get by" which leads to pulling over anyway, no? In which case she deserves the cuffs for failure to yield.
