That is absurd. They sell nothing but.

Is it relatively light? There is an Apple store at the nearby mall so I can look, though the order may be going through a couple people.

You go home to your custom gaming rig every night and sneer at the folks with their $400 Dell boxes?

I would go to the mall and play with the options to see what screen size and weight you want. The 13" is lighter but has a small screen. The 17" has a massive screen, but has struck me as pretty unwieldy for a true laptop. It's more like an easily portable desktop. If you want to save a few bucks and want 13", consider the white 13" macbook instead of the 13" macbook pro.

No one I know uses their apple in any way different than others use their entry level PCs. I suppose that's their own fault for not taking advantage of whatever superior qualities the apple has.

That's probably true, and they probably would buy "more" computer than they need if they bought a Dell as well. But the point Adder was apparently being obtuse about is that if you look at the lowest end dell, it's a lot cheaper, and fairly well less powerful than the lowest-end Mac (and without the software that no one uses anyway).

now you've done it- get ready for fringey to remind us she is still relearning to walk and can hardly go to the mall. Geesh.

You remember two years ago when I mentioned the waxy build up in my ears? Well it hasn't gotten better; in fact it is worse. And you don't hear me complaining every second.

Apple. Everything is easier.

Nope. And for the most part my tinkering with computers phase is behind me.

Given that in the previous post she said she could go to the mall to look, it hardly seems I'm suggesting something untoward.

Actually, I was referring to software more than hardware, basically TM's "everything is easier" point.

I haven't priced it lately, but it was always my understanding that Apple cost more even if you compare roughly equivalent hardware, but I don't know.
