I would have pegged you for Duke's on the Strip. I used to live down the street from Oki Dog! My bf, who loves all things wrapped in animal casing (a true Wisconsin boy), found them a bit odd. I can totally talk low-brow LA food (heck, half my dinners come from food trucks these days), but I had the impression that Mr. Corner Office was looking for something more refined.

Forgot Duke's where I have eaten the Revenge, since 1981 when it was located at the Tropicana. At the time there was a place there called Chris's Pit Stop which had the best burgers I have ever eaten.

On another note, I spent 18 days there in 1981 and am fairly confident that if I could remember a little more, I could write a best-selling book and make it into a movie about those 18 days. Who wants to represent me?

I have a broad range of tastes, npi, and can do downscale as well as up, if it tastes good. Ala Bourdain.

That said, for this particular dinner I am picking a place for banker types and need to appropriately upscaley corner office style. After that I am open.

Speaking of which, I am going to sue Apple over false advertising. It isn't a bar since I can't get a martini and the people are NOT Mensa-certified geniuses.

I always bring a flask to the mall, and so would penske, if he is truly C-O. AND given his IQ they're all geniuses, in comparison.

Re: Lamest k race win ever

looking at the mob on the airplane there are several couples of people that are both unattractive- objectively- not like people saying I'm not handsome-

if you are seriously unattractive I understand settling for an unattractive spouse, but why reproduce? these babies aren't even cute at 1.

If you want to impress them, get a table at Gjelina in Venice (not an easy feat; do it now). That is about a block from my apartment and is the current hot spot on the Westside. Better food, great cocktails (seriously, if you go here get a mixed drink before dinner) and more refined ambiance, but a bit pretentious, is The Tasting Kitchen also in Venice (about 200 feet from my apartment). Old school high end neighborhood favorite is Joe's. I like Fig in Santa Monica (in the Fairmont Hotel at Wilshire and Ocean) better than any of those for the food, but Abbot Kinney is more trendy right now. I'll get back to you on Century City stuff, but most of it is (high end) chains. Craft, Gulfstream, Houston's, etc. Beverly Hills is another (taxi) option. Lots of steakhouses, the best of which is Maestro's, and other options.

You'll be hiring escorts right? They'd be most up to date on the hif end restaurants.

The Ninth Circuit ruled recently that you have a constitutional right not to be strip searched by a guard of the opposite gender. I look forward to the contortions they'll need to go through when the next inmate sues claiming he was strip searched by a gay male guard.

Maybe it's a straight guy thing, but being strip searched by a guy sounds way more unpleasant than being searched by a woman.
