Have you fucked her yet? Because it seems to me she wants sex. Just give it to her already.

Tsunami

The pictures and videos from Japan are really disturbing. I saw that the quake happened last night and figured there might be some effect here*, but I wasn't ready for the 5:30 a.m. tsunami warning call from mom. Thanks for watching out for me, mom!

*2-3 foot waves expected here starting in an hour or so. Looks like Northern California and Oregon are bracing for worse.

I'm not sure which place you're referrring to. How big of a group? What part of town?

I might not be the best person to recommend trending/funky, but I like Oyamel at 7th and D. Upscale/sort trendy Mexican. Not a real big place though, so maybe not the best for a group.

I been to group functions at the similarly named Oya, on 9th between G and H. Definitely trendy/funky, but I can't actually remember what I ate there.

Zaytinya is a standby in that general category. If you go to DC much, you've probably been there.

In a different part of town, I like Founding Farmers at 20th and Penn, and they have a few large tables that if you could snag them would be good for a large group. Maybe trendy/funking in a decor sense (a little), but the food is more in the range of comfort food. Lots of fancy cocktails though.

I can offer others with a better sense of what you might like.

Same here. Getting a call from South Carolina at 6:10am made us think it would be a Someone Back Home Died call, instead of the more creative Hey, Lookout!, You're Gonna Die call.

There's no question about that, but not yet. Likely soon.

I'm actually going to be seeing the leaving DC FWB this weekend, so things could get interesting on that front too.

From our perspective, this sounds promising. Keep us posted.

Not sure what Ty recommended, but there's a trendy Japanese restuarant near Penn Quarter on K Street called Kushi. Besides sushi, they have kushiyaki (various skewered food items cooked over a charcoal grill), which seems pretty unique, at least in D.C. This is one of my favorite new restaurants in D.C.

Estadio in Logan Circle is Spanish/tapas and is very new and getting great reviews.

Zengo in Penn Quarter is Latin-Asian fusion. Pretty trendy and fun, and I enjoyed the food.

Other recommendations: Rasika (upscale Indian); Zaytinya (mediterranean tapas); Oyamel (creative Latin American)

Needless to say, if it's a large group going, they should try to get reservations at any of the above restaurants.

I also got a wake-up call from my mom on the East Coast. Since we live on top of a hill, it seemed a little excessive. The SF beaches are closed today, though, and I'm wondering if I'll see a big wave sweeping thru the Bay soon.

Worked out okay though. Nothing too crazy.
She is trying to get you to take advantage of her. "Intoxicated" is not a word that is easy to text when impaired.

I have IRL friends that are effectively you and that is the type restaurant they'd be looking for- maybe one that plays euro soccer games in the morning

I had the same thought when the phone rang. I'm glad we were both wrong.
