I think Hank is right on this one. I can't think of any more (without exhausting the berry universe).

Yes, but only made by the mother of a good friend, who grew up on a pig farm in southern Michigan.

House of Pies.
ETA: My favorite pie is the Butterscotch chip pie at the Royer's Round Top Cafe, in Round Top, Texas. The crust is just unbelievable, and the pie just melts in my mouth.
The Round Top Cafe is decidedly not a diner, but the food is good, and it's a lovely little restaurant in a quaint little Texas town. It'll be jammed packed next weekend for the Antique Festival, but they'll have plenty of pies available for everyone.
I like their Remember the Alamode! tee shirt.

Shit. Even a mediocre chain like Marie Callender's has 25 kinds of pie.

That's not my town so I don't know the Sugar Bowl. But my hometown has a diner in a block of connected buildings like that and so does the next town over.
A diner is about the food and ambiance not the architecture. I should have STP as Thurgreed said the same thing.

So, you include Perkins and Embers as "diners"?

Hmm. Diners are about the architecture in California. Or at least partially so. There are lots of local diner chains in LA. Most are known by the shape of their buildings. And then there's always the old diner buildings that are defunct as diners but are kept around for use as filming locations. Yeah, LA is odd.

Reading this inspired me to go to the window to check on the status of my rhubarb. Dang cold, late winter! It'll probably still be another month until I can pick any.

who drove through an honest-to-goodness blizzard yesterday. Someone forgot to put the "spring" in spring break.

and 14-18 are only there to be overly inclusive and 19/20 aren't diner pies.

Is that even a pie? It's more like sponge cake with some whipped cream and chocolate.
What about combo pies? Apple-Rhubarb? Peach and some berry? This place alone has 6 apple pies, and hordes more of other ones.

no. a "classic diner" is a stand alone building built to look not unlike a large streamlined car. rent Diner. watch Diner. then you will know what a diner is- I guarantee the Fell's Point diner isn't serving "double creme lemon" pie, or Oreo.
