You need to adjust the contrast on your camera.

By far the most prevalent language spoken at the park a block from my house is Spanish, if you are on some "Minnesota is all white" kick again. But our cleaning woman is white. And she rarely misses any spots. IYKWIMAITTYD.

Comcast Triple Play or AT&T U-verse? Anyone have any guidance?

Further underscoring the international nature of Mineapolis, I was just accidently given a 5 Rupee coin instead of a nickel for change. Which means I got a pretty sweet deal.

Agreed. I thought Time Warner sucked, but apparently everyone connected to Comcast in any way is worse off for it. I do not have ESPN at the gym right now because they use Comcast and they're playing a game of chicken with content providers by cutting service to their own fucking customers. Apparently this is not an infrequent occurrence.

no offense but people being able to sneak foreign coins into your change does not underscore the "international nature" of one's area. You put a foreign coin into a Detroiter's palm and you'll likely bring back some broken fingers.

That reminds me of when I went to Kenya once and I tipped a guy who helped load groceries into the car with a $50 bill instead of a 50 KSH bill (you do the math).
I felt really really weird about it. And stupid, like Stupid White American/Canadian Lady Tourist.

it may be worse than you realize. IIRC you're left handed, correct?
- In Kenya, it is considered proper etiquette to always shake hands with the right hand, as left-handed handshakes, as well as giving a gift with just your left hand, is considered wholly inappropriate.

If Verizon and Google succeed in killing net neutrality, we can look forward to more of that on the interwebs.

Never tried AT&T U-verse. I have the Comcast triple play. I'm pretty happy with them overall, now that they have to compete with Verizon Fios in our neighborhood. The phone quality is really good. Prices were very competitive. The only downside is that we lost phone service during the recent power outages. The phone modem is supposed to have a battery that keeps service on for 8 hours. It hasn't worked yet, even though they've sent us and we've installed replacement batteries a couple of times.

if this were an Ecuadorian board, I'd be the ass:
- There is a strong sense of regionalism in Ecuadorian society. Many Ecuadorians identify themselves first with their home region (specially if they are from the coast or the highland), then their nationality.
