I say this as someone from a family of doctors, brought up to reject all "non-traditional" medicine, complete skeptic.... and after shattering my leg in a car accident and learning that the bones were not healing after six months, was willing to try something else. My ortho surgeon was shocked at how quickly I healed after that, and a number of other medical problems were cleared up. And when my bones were reset, early on, the herbal meds for the pain were stunningly effective (and by that time I'd taken virtually every pain med on the planet).
ETA: I acknowledge that anyone who deems any person who talks about the effectiveness of eastern medicine as a "woo-woo friend" will not be convinced, but don't blame the speaker for your deaf ears or closed mind.

I'm a woo-woo friend but agree wholeheartedly with respect to acupuncture. Haven't yet had occasion to try an herbal remedy, but I would.

Active Release Therapy.
I won't go to a chiropractor who does the whole spine snapping thing. I did that once and wound up worse because of it.
But ART has been the only thing that helped me.

If it makes you feel any better, I currently have my first case of plantar fasciitis. And it really sucks.

I love my acupuncturist. She's helped me considerably with what I went in to get help with, and I feel considerably less stressed than I did two or three months ago. She's certainly not the only provider I see, but I do think she's been very helpful.

Last summer, I had it due to a stupid fall. The worst part (for me) was that I compensated and ended up screwing up my calf/Achilles tendon. The night brace seemed to help a lot, and I seemed to be ok after about 6 weeks.

6 weeks? I can barely go 5 days without running before I start bouncing off the walls.

Phones
So what are the current thoughts on smartphones? I have a 2.5 year old android device, and I'm thinking about switching to the iphone.
Things I don't like about my phone:
*terrible battery life
*apps seem to crash relatively often
*no itunes
*poor sound quality for calls
I think the Samsung Galaxy 3 (or 4) may be too big. Same with the Nexus 4. I don't want that much phone in my pocket, and the iphone has stayed relatively smaller.

FWIW, the battery life on my iPhone 5 is significantly better than it was on the 4s.

He can't handle much size near his pockets, so they both are probably small.

Both have to be folded to fit in their proper place.

I'm about to go back to the iPhone. I hate, hate, hate my android. It crashes if I look at it while it's trying to do anything. It drops my internet connection all the time and it won't reconnect unless I do a cold reboot on the phone, and the battery won't last more than 4 hours if I do anything with it.
