				You heard it here first.

Today, my 9-year-old daughter was telling me how she tried to remove a gumball machine tattoo from her forearm with rubbing alcohol and jojoba oil. Except she pronounced "jojoba" as "Hobo Joe". So I giggled at her pronunciation, and said that "HoboJoe" oil sounded disgusting, if not downright dangerous. So we both made goofy jokes about "Hobo Joe" oil for a minute, until she asked what the pronunciation is supposed to be.
When I said, "It's 'ho-ho-buh' oil" she replied "Huh... Must be his girlfriend."

Saying you went to school, "near Boston" is so much worse than just saying the school's name. "Near Boston" implies one thinks the hearer will (or should be) intimidated. Plus, it leads to "What school," and then you're down that road anyway.

				Facebook and me

I've crossed into the social networking era -- yesterday I learned via Facebook that an old friend died on Monday. Decades ago someone would have called me or sent an email, I guess.

It begs (no, literally BEGS) the question that the guy (because it's inevitably a guy) is dying to answer. |

In case anyone was wondering, the chick from Braveheart is no longer my Number One Dream Girl. That coveted title is now held by American tennis player Sloane Stephens.
Go ahead... Wiki her and tell me she's not absolutely adorable!!!
