I hope so.

Right now, the Democrats dominate the news. McCain/ Huckabee has been good for nothing more than laughs.

And we're going to be featured with constant coverage of Hillary and Obama while McCain tries to manufacture events.

Did you see the Washington post poll today? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/politics/

Obama up 52-40 over McCain and Hillary up 50-44.

Right now? Like that's a new development since the day after Bush became a lame duck?
You're missing the point.

There was a time when I might have voted "for" the Republican.

'Tis a shame for you, then, that the actual election is in November.

Talking merely for talking's sake is inane.
People are less willing to attack those they know and like than they are to attack nameless groups, and just having less hostile relationships between our leadership and the leadership of countries whose policies we disagree with helps set the stage for both sides to back away from ludicrous crap and loosen up all on their own, without actual negotiations.

Or, that would be my theory. I guess if we know it makes them treat us worse because of . . . whatever . . . then it hurts, but if it doesn't hurt, why not do it?

Indeed.

But it is an indication that the lengthy primaries aren't hurting the Dems.

So if you're just voting against the Dem, pull the Libertarian lever.

Or Ralph's. I can see you as a Ralph voter.

2. Contrast- I remember Reagan volunteeered doing pap smears at planned parenthood during the 1980 campaign.

The funny thing is McCain alienates some of the Red base, and at the same time Obama has shown an ability to pull out a lot of voters, especially in some states that are part of the Republican base. Look for some surprises in the south, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Georgia all could be competitive. It's not Obama taking votes away from McCain, it's McCain losing some votes to a good show on TV while Obama gets some people to turn that thing off and go down and vote.
do you just not bet too?

IIRC, I've made two bets on the board, and I won the other.
