The (gas) Sonata is what I got from enterprise. Perhaps the 1/4 tank is what it came with from the factory but it seems not.

To me it's a totally indifferent car that's like every other rental--punchy when you tap the gas up to 7 mph, fairly floaty in turns at speed, light steering feel, grabby brakes at low speed that don't stop you very well from higher speeds. I would complain about the size and visibility, but cars seem bigger when you haven't gotten used to where the corners are, which I hope I won't have the time to do.
I have a Z4? Sweet.

Didn't you buy/lease one? Maybe the lease was up long ago. Or you didn't take our advice to jump on it.

I have never owned or considered one. I currently own one car: an Acura RDX. Before that it was an Acura TL.

I'm crazy, then. But not about a comma after the year.

Not in that sentence.

You are. Why would you put a comma after the year? Why, Burger? Why?

Because there's a comma before the year as well, as there should be (and they act as parentheses). Not to mention that the second comma is called for in leading style guides (Chicago, AP, even the GPO).

Oh. How. We. Laughed.

Fine, you got to Wikipedia before I did. Why the hell would you need to put parentheses around the year? And if you did, why not use parentheses instead of a comma, which is something different than parentheses. This is more fucked up than the nazi typographers telling me how to write a brief. Next thing, they be telling me it needs to be fully-justified.

Fans of typography and good graphic design typically hate full justification. So there's that.

I'm surprised you don't avoid the whole issue by using the Eurotrash date style of 14 January 2011.

*No I learned this in 8th grade. Wikipedia confirmed what I'd known long ago.

Why don't any book publishers listen to them?
