Meth-head Mortgage Manager
The manager of a WaMu mortgage desk was a meth-head, who left his works on his desk in plain sight. One of his employees, "Everybody said, 'He gets the job done.'"

Ouch!
I am sort of glad that the motor city bagel thing has fallen by the waysides of culinary histoury. that is not a geographic identification that I want to be associated with. no offence.
Sorry Hank

Same Old Jets
The Jets and Lions will always be laughing stocks. At least one doesn't tease you from year to year. I say let's send both, along with the Raiders, Bengals and Browns, back to D-1.
Tony Romo gets the all time choke award in my book.
I'd hate to have to play Philly anywhere in the NFC playoffs.

-- A man angry that a family was talking during a movie threw popcorn at the son and then shot the father in the arm, according to police in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
we had a fight break out a few rows behind me in an pretty empty theatre because someone sat in front of someone else, blocking a guy's view.
anyone else seeing more cinema fighting?

Brett Favre doesn't? What an abysmal performance. The only saving grace is that not only did Pennington get to give a big middle finger to his former team, the Jets still have to find a QB.

Firing Mangini seems like a knee-jerk reaction. His record was mediocre, but the end of this season was all about Farve creaking to a grinding halt.

Well, by the time the game was in the second quarter, the Jets were only playing to put New England in the playoffs (Baltimore had what, a 2 TD lead by then?). Not a huge incentive, frankly. Particularly for Mangini.
I disagree that Philly is the team that you don't want to see in the playoffs. NFC maybe (though both Carolina and Giants probably could handle them easily -- frankly the top 2 in the NFC are far better than anyone else in that division). I think that both of the Wild Cards in the AFC are the teams you don't want coming to your stadium.

So are you saying Favre or Mangini tanked at that point? From the snippets I saw (thanks NFL broadcasting rules that kept us in Baltimore!), Mangini probably didn't order Favre to throw balls right into the hands of Miami defensive linement.

I'm just saying there was a team that was playing to get in and a team that wasn't. I don't think they threw the game (this is so obvious I don't even feel like I should have to say it), but emotion has a fair amount to do with performance in big games. It was a really big game for exactly one of those teams for probably 3 quarters of the game.
(And criticizing Favre for forcing balls in to spots that are high risk is like admitting that you haven't watched 90%+ of his games over the last 10 years or so. Oh, maybe I've said too much.)
