Well, obviously. For hare stink you need to be in the rabbit hutch all day.

Am I the only person that thinks that, if you're doing yoga for enlightenment or spirituality or oneness, why the fuck are you doing it as a group? And why does someone have to lead?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No. There's something to that; however, there is also a "group energy" when everyone does it together.

One style of yoga (called Mysore -- 'cause boy'mysore after I'm done -- ha ha -- I kill me) is done on your own, but in a group (i.e., each person counts his breaths and moves on to the next pose; you may be "ahead" or "behind" the people around you, but you just do your thing), and the instructor comes around to each person to make corrections. So, unless you know the sequence of poses, you need to have someone leading. (If you look at an Ashtanga course listing, they will say "Led Primary Series" or "Led Secondary Series" to indicate that it isn't Mysore style.) But someone doesn't have to lead: it's nice to have someone come around and give adjustments, though.

If you're truly only focused on yourself and you know how to accomplish that, do the shit at home, where you CAN be truly focused on what you're doing. Doing it at a gym with other people sounds about as impersonal as you can get.

I'm not sure I get your point here, but people do do it at home all the time. They miss out on the group energy dynamic -- but, whatever. (And don't listen to me -- I'd be a bad instructor, apparently.) I never much got into all the "oneness" stuff. It is calming and rejuvenating -- but the spiritual stuff is secondary to me -- I like the other benefits. (Again, this makes me a fraud, so don't take my advice!)

Now that we are back up, anyone have any dining, activity suggestions for Palm Springs? Am considering taking the tram up and hiking around in cooler temps this week (prior to baking in the 100 degree heat for Coachella).

Sorry it took me so long to track down the problem. A couple tables got corrupted during the crash yesterday and it took me a while to figure out which tables needed to be fixed and how to fix them. On top of that, the host was not any help at all.

Thanks for your patience and sorry for any frustration and/or symptoms of withdrawal.

I think I found all the corrupted tables in the database, but if you guys find any more error messages (i.e. when sending PMs or editing posts or anything like that), please PM or e-mail the error message text to me. Thanks.

I don't, but the Wilco cancelation sucks.

If it were really rage, I would have said "bullshit" or "crap," not "stuff."

Tell me. And Radiohead cancelled their last show in Australia this week because Thom has a sore throat. Hopefully the antibiotics will fix it before Saturday. Otherwise there will be some severely pissed off people running around in the desert.

Edit: However Beck is apparently a surprise add-on. Not sure what others will be...

And they will be saying things like "That's crap!" and "That's bullshit!" not "That's stuff!"

Just an FYI, 'trane.
