no way, but I think she got herself in trouble by focusing on the cosmetic aspects, rather than health fears/bodily intrusion issues, etc.

True, but should the motivation matter? Especially given how we regard plastic surgery in these parts.

I'm really interested to see where this goes, because it's well beyond, and different in kind, than the prosecutions for crack smoking while pregnant.

I remember that. In contrast to the 9/11 scenario, this one seems really hard to peg as of yet. Maybe the Basques, what with the van they found a few weeks ago with 1100 pounds of explosives etc.

On 9/12, I don't recall any certainty, just strong suspicion, that al Qaeda was to blame. And that was because it was assumed no other organization had the wherewithal for such a coordinated attack.

Of course, on 4/20, they were assumed to be responsible for OkC, too.

That said, several bombs on multiple trains looks more al qaeda than EtA, based on news accounts.

These are demonstrators in Madrid, protesting the bombings, raising their hands in the air to symbolize stopping the violence.

I wonder who comes up with these brilliant new ideas? Was it Kerry? I'd really like to shake that person's hand, whoever it was. This one is bound to work. How can the terrorists continue thier jihad in the face of hundreds of people raising their hands in a stopping motion?

It baffles me that no one, other than Howard Stern, is speaking up against this. Isn't this what you lefties are supposed to be all about? How the hell are these fines not chilling?

I don't like it. I think it's election-year pandering. But I see bigger problems with the content on the broadcast media than the impending lack of indecency.
