Both total, and what remained unclear/undecided as of yesterday is whether one has to choose one or the other, or can combine them to reach the $10,000 cap.
Also, California would appear to support the strippers are employees side of the argument. https://www.bizjournals.com/sanfranc...ettlement.html

Seems like strippers could be either employees or independent contractors, depending on the job.

For IRS “control of work” assessment, a blow job is clearly 1099 territory. A hand job is arguable (client could self-complete).

Hate the judge, not the player. Two months ago I was in a mediation with a very smart Fed Judge and pond scum opposing. We had trial scheduled to start last week. We told Judge these guys will settle because they will not let a Jury near a patent verdict. They knock off 50 ideas each year and make $300 Million. But they never settle until the jury is inevitable. And as I sat there she agreed to move the trial back 6 months so that they could flesh out some issues that mean nothing to nobody. For that matter, better to be stupid in front of a judge, at least the fucked decisions won't bother you so much.

You fucked up. You told her they would settle. She figures settle on your clock not hers. And if not you just lost 6 months. No lose.
This is far more fucked up. This, she agreed to let a defendant redepose a plaintiff that was deposed for 13 days because they forgot to ask some questions.

Honestly, I cannot remember a Judge ever denying another bite at deposition. I think afraid to create a reversible issue. Different in state?

Forget worrying about that. We need to power up the greedy associate energy into making sure our contracts with our assisted living homes are as they should be!

It's cool to know that as an in-house securities lawyer, I am still qualified to be a federal district court judge! FTR, that's an R asking those questions, reportedly pissing off other Rs.

Context. It’s like your wife sending you out for milk and you coming back saying you sold the car, adopted out the kids and brought home 90kittens.

To be fair, I'd worry less about either of us than some of those recently approved. And the biggest reason to not vote for this guy is that he's a complete hack (Federal Election Commission? We're talking swamp central there, the land of the soulless), not just unqualified.

Probably should have said town, but I was thinking, in particular, of Wilmar, Minnesota. There's also a apparently a good-sized Somali population in St. Cloud, although sprawl has sort of turned it into an exurb.
