Finalized everything on the Z4 about two weeks ago, and they called me today to tell me that it arrives around May 20 or so. That's fast, but it's only coming from South Carolina. I decided to go with the SMG after all after a cat on the Roadfly board took me for a ride in his and won me over. Once you get a little used to it, it is really fucking neat and easy to work with. You just can't really downshift off throttle until you get really smooth with the timing of it.
He also had the nav in his (as I will in mine). It's really fucking sweet. I can't wait to get this shit.
I ended up doing a balloon loan. Low monthly payments coupled with my down payment and a balloon payment at the end. A smart way to finance a car these days, I think.

1. Those storage compartments between the seats are pretty large, so I think that I would be good for at least six months, even more with a small or premature baby.
2. Then, there's the trunk. You could probably even find a way to fasten the car seat.
3. The passenger front air bag will disable for weights below a certain amount in the sear.
4. Any soon-occuring child of mine will almost certainly be illegitimate, so I won't have to worry about some post-pregnancy fat riding around with me and my kid when we're trying to get some trim. However, I will have to figure out a way to arrange for the kid to be dropped off somewhere if I pick up a hot.
5. Of course I'm kidding about all this, you fuckers! I would never have kids!

British Ingenuity
This discussion about dropping kids off reminded me of a story a British guy told me a few months ago. Apparently, this idea won the "Queen's Award for Entepreneurship" or some shit like that. In America, contests like that are one by dental advances, but we're talking about the land of rot and decay here:
Anyway, Britain has very strict drunk driving (or as they insipidly call it, "drinkdriving") laws. Apparently, the limit is .04 or so, strictly enforced, and often tested. And the penalties are quite severe. So, you can't safely have more than one drink (or _maybe_ two, if they're weak and you space them out).
But, every now and then, someone drives his mates to the bar, but ends up drinking too much after he gets there. Or maybe he decides to start drinking after he gets there.
Normally, to avoid drinkdriving, he would have to take a cab home and then return in the morning for his car. Now, this isn't conducive to timely arrival at the paper sales office to make fun of Gareth, so a few guys started offering a service which has taken off and is available all across the U.K. now:
You call up some dude, and he drives to the bar on some tiny-ass little scooter. When he gets there, he folds up the scooter, puts it in your trunk/boot/whatever and drives you home. Upon arrival, he unfolds his scooter and drives himself home or wherever. All for a reasonable amount of money that isn't even dollars anyway!

This mentoring shit is tired. I'm pretty sure that that one militant guy who wants to beat me up is still posting about it, but I've had him on ignore for at least a quarter or two already. Are all the other people I've got on ignore still harping about it, too? You're the only one whose posts I ever see, so you should really try to keep me informed about board trends.

The premium roadside assistance program might have something to do with this.

And it rather conclusively demonstrates that Porsches are for men who don't get any because of their small dicks.

I found it interesting that all the women reported lower rates. In a monogamous society, someone's got some 'splaning to do.

BMWs also have a rep as a gay men's car.
(although maybe the soccer mom minivan stats aren't showing up--I have to imagine the men driving the minivans drag the average down towards zero.)

Ah yes. It all makes sense now. The other alternative that just occured is that BMW owners, as a lot, are so underconfident that they not only need to but BMW's, but also lie about how often they do it. This doesn't explain the Porsche number though.

Hey! Fuck off. (and the survey was in Germany- you know, where they drive wagons instead of minivans, and even exagerating BMW drivers apparently have very little sex).

Speaking of celibacy . . .
IS there any Porsche (other than the Cayenne) that can fit an adult in the back seat?

If you're driving a Porsche and need a back seat to fuck, you have some serious financial priority issues.

Dude, I fuck in the front seat. I put the chicks who wanna watch in the back. However, I prefer them to be over 11, so nead a real back seat.

I did once squeeze into the back "seat" of a partner's 911. It was very unpleasant. Porsche should just drop the pretense, for the health and welfare of young associates and junior vice presidents everywhere.
I've ridden in a older 911 (maybe a 72? 73?) that didn't seem so small, but then again, I wasn't back in the back.
