The traffic tie-ups are caused by the dumbasses who actually drive the speed limit.

I believe I have eaten at every chain restaurant known to man in Schaumburg from the TGIFridays level through and including Firefly. Insurance companies (here Zurich) should not be allowed to have their national headquarters in such places.

Halloween
Among the top 10 Halloween costumes (which includes Napoleon Dynamite and Pedro), this one's my favorite. Giant yellow dick.
Disturbing that this person's naked under his or hers.

Dear RP,
As a public service, may I please tell you that this is not a good look, especially on a pregnant woman. So if you find yourself reaching for that purple minidress in your closet - don't. And cowboy boots are in this fall but that doesn't mean it's OK to wear them with everything.

And Sebby, stick with the tight pants.

Or people who apparently get into either the I-Pass or "Exact Change Only" lanes instead of the manned lanes.
I haven't hit all the exits in suburban Chicago, but I've yet to come across one that doesn't have a manned booth.
Now New Jersey, there's a state that knows how to assess a toll. The EZ Pass lanes start at least a mile back and you take the EZ Pass tool both at a minimum of 50 miles per hour. Since the put in the new toll plazas, that alone has cut the trip from DC to NY by an hour most times of the day.

And with your shoe untied. And wearing a rainbow striped canvas belt that belied your tough guy image.
The belt just pisses me off. Not only is it gay (NTTAWWT), it's being worn in such a way as to completely defeat its purpose.

Further proof
That animal cruelty penalties are not severe enough.
BENTONVILLE -- Three young girls testified Wednesday their dad gave beer to the family colt to calm it down and pulled the colt behind his truck to "wear it out."
"That's why we named the horse 'Mickey,' because he likes to drink my dad's beer," said an 8-year-old girl, referring to Mickey's Malt Liquor, her dad's beer of choice.
The girls, ages 8, almost 9 and 11, were watching out the back window of their dad's red 1965 Chevy flatbed truck the June 8 morning when their dad tied the family's new yearling colt to the back and drove down gravel and paved roads in rural Gentry.
The rest is a really horrible story about what happened to that poor little pony and what the vet says. It's pretty sad. Fair warning.

I have met a lot people in Seattle who have never been to NYC. I find that more troubling, no offence.

I don;t know, that's sort of hot. Not hot like you (NFH), but hot nonetheless.

For how wonderful the city is, everything about the surrounding suburban area sucks (sorry, Wonk). It is all flat, overpriced farmland w/minimalls and big box stores.
Hank: the Detroit suburbs are a breath of fresh air compared to effing Schaumburg. Actually, the Detroit suburbs are amazingly nice given what they surround.
|
We have the inverse metro areas, you and I. I had a friend who lived in whatever city Wayne's World was set in. We drove out from downtown Chicago to see them one night at like 7. Traffic jams most of the way. Imagine real rush hour. Sitting for hours is no way to live. Contrast Detroit suburbs which are the perfect place to live day to day.
But we don't have a city, so you win.
