I can't be outraged all the time either. Maybe I should be, but I just can't do it. Glad others are stepping up.

Welcome to the Middle East. Notice any similarities between Trump, Ahmadinejad, Erdoğan, and Netanyahu?

It's a way to govern, but it leaves the country reeling, and causes many to disengage themselves from politics altogether.

I don't understand not being outraged every day at this administration.

Degrees. But I'm not sure how far away anyone could be from James Baldwin's famous quotation.

"To be black and conscious in America is to be in a constant state of rage." – James Baldwin

That story is super confusing. Who is reviewing what? Because citizens don't have "travel privileges" that can be reviewed. Canada could be reviewing whether it wants to admit him (no idea why that would be the case), but there has not before been a process for telling US citizens they can't leave the country.

IF that's what's going on, and in particular in retribution for his political advocacy, it's a huge fucking scandal. But we're going to need to hear more from Mr. Khan about what exactly is going on.

From what I have read, the story is suspect. But fuck it, this is Trumperica. Tweet that shit. Put it on the front page of the Washington Post. It is, at a minimum, at least as well-supported as the wire tap story. So, it's TRUE.

I just love this exchange:

Spokesmoron Sanders: ""I will let the president speak for himself."

Martha Raddatz: "You're his spokesperson!"

What a twisted upside-down fucking cartoon of a government we have.

Here's some nice rare funk for you. The Universouls. "New Generation."

I believe that Sebby left here to enter the Trump Spokesmoron training program. Look for his word salad on camera at the point when Spicey can't stand up in the press room without eliciting anticipatory belly-laughs.

God this fucking place is boring without me.

I'm not "back," but this drew my response, only because I happened to have been next to the man at an event recently. He seems to have a perpetual deer-in-headlights look on his face - a sort of genetic nervousness. Un-Trumpian in every regard. Whoever hired him must've taken some serious shit from Mr. Orange.

Also, I'll join the echo chamber a bit... May the four winds carry you to an exile from which we'll never hear of you again, Mr. Sessions.

Now, carry on with your fascinating dialogue.

I'm pretty against the Trumpist pro-Russia influence on the GOP, but I don't think this is a big deal. Just as I don't think it's a big deal with all of the whataboutism being focused at McCaskill. And frankly, the whataboutism that has invaded the Republicans is just a reflexive reaction to the selling out of their own principles. And if you are going to do it, even though it is weak, pointing out when Ted Kennedy explicitly asked the Commies to influence Reagan's campaign would have been a much better example.

I'm sorry that Franken/Leahy didn't ask the questions you wish they had.
"Any reaction to Trump which treats him as less than an existential threat to the Republic who must be rejected in all regards, and which reaction falls short of supporting Trump's removal from office, as soon as possible, by any means, is invalid."

This is a paraphrase of a comment I recently heard at a political dinner. The question posed, to someone who's worked in politics since the nineties, was, "Can you distill the opposition's position to a sentence?"

We're in an ideological civil war right now. Trump and the Deplorables versus the Establishment and the Left.

I see no winners emerging from this. The more it goes on, the fewer people believe in institutions, or know what facts to trust. I don't think we have a
"Deep State" in the classic Turkish sense, but this sort of fragmentation will enable a certain cadre of politicians, agencies, and the corporations and other special interests who've captured them to curtail civil liberties in the interests of security.

If you think Wikileaks is the enemy, you're focusing on the wrong battle.

How do you stop polarization? For years now, it has been what Republican voters want. Now, Democratic voters are tired of being moderate and reasonable, and want their politicians to fight. Most Democratic politicians would rather cut deals than be at war, but they also want to keep their jobs. I don't think the polarization is good for the country, but it takes two to tango and the GOP hasn't wanted to dance for a long time now. Some of them do, but if they show it they lose their jobs. They're still more scared of getting primaried than of losing in the general election.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

I support Trump's removal from office from office, as soon as possible, by any means.

I know, I know, you're going to say something about Pence and piss shivers. Well, if you having piss shivers is the price we need to pay, I'm willing to pay it! What the fuck am I supposedly spoiling here anyway? This place is an echo chamber, inside a circle jerk, wrapped in a trust fall. What??!?

Today's Daily Dose is Eddie Bo. "You Can Handle It." Because I know you can.

ETA: Also, fuck Germany. They loaned money to known deadbeats to buy their shit to prop their numbers. They're the GE Capital Circa 2008 of Europe. Or perhaps Europe's-IOU-accepting-smack-peddler. And now they push austerity on their customers? May they go down like a stone with what they enabled.
Actually, I'm planning on killing them all and letting the Devil sort them out. Starting with health insurance underwriters, anyone involved in the PE industry and any asshole who suggests in my presence that a person's race, gender, or ethnicity have anything to do with their value as a human being.

Usually, in human history, this level of insanity ends with a mass Auto-da-Fé.

Let us hope we are passing the sentence rather than suffering it.
