I may be a kiss ass but I am pleasant to work with and people like working w/me. that's not easy considering the array of personalities.

I implied that every compliment I paid NY counsel was in comparison to their Philly counterparts. I've been involved in settlements involving both and been frustrated by Philly counsel making everything into a fucking fight. There's an aggression in this town's practice NYC doesn't need, or maybe want, to have. Its annoying.

If y'all pick recoculous fights more than NY lawyers pick recockulous fights, then I hope I never encounter any of you.

As it happens, I attended my first Dajers game a couple weeks ago. I think the stadium's cool, in that retro kinda way.

And their colors -- who doesn't want an excuse to wear green and white?

So settlement discussions your idea of transactional work? You are so off base with respect to whether or not NY transactional attorneys (as a rule, present company excluded, yadda yadda) have the time to be a pain in the ass. Dude, it is what they live for.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is stop talking. Or carve out transactional practices from your sweeping generalizations. We have our own, thank you very much.

I'm not going that far. You've got the carve out.
What kind of lawyer are the guys who punch up the settlement agreements? Thos tax guys who always come in and complicate everything... are they transactional or lit?

Dude. You don't even know.
I used to like going to baseball games and basketball games. I still go to football games, but it's a 2 hour flight now. The teams here suck. I've turned down bunches of Giants and A's tickets - not to mention the hapless Warriors. Why even bother?
Fucking As.

Dude, I can't believe a NY transactional guy could be more annoying than a Philly litigator. Getting your balls busted is one thing. Getting your balls busted for no reason, on a superfluous issue the ballbuster doesn't understand is another.

I would suggest rooting for Toronto, but I'm not sure if they're even playing baseball anymore.

Those New York firms have whole separate practice groups dedicated to billing hours in screwing up and complicated settlements. The economic model is amazing.

I don't know. I also don't understand why Fox didn't do a better job promoting it. I only discovered it this summer when I got the first season DVDs.

Lesson for you:
TV Guide is more than just a 4 colour glossy coaster!

Clearly you have never been in a drafting session when the NY junior associate responds to every requested change with "That's our standard form and we never change our form."
