In your defense, he may have intentionally chosen a bad movie on the theory that you'd decide it was better to leave and go to his place and fuck.

Wolf of Wall Street
I was out last night and someone highly recommended Wolf of Wall Street, which has been sitting in my Netflix queue for some time. So tonight I finally sat down to watch it. I want that 3 hours back. The guy who recommended it to me is lucky that he has no interest in ever fucking me because that movie was a dumpable offense. Just terrible, amiright?

No, Wolf of Wall Street had about 6 or 7 good minutes.

The opposite happened to me last night. I'd never seen Inglorious Basterds and it was on IFC (I think). The movie is good (but not great). Christoph Waltz, however, is amazing.

I gotta say, I don't understand the Waltz craze. He was very good in that movie. But he's basically the same quirky German-type in everything he's been in since (minus the evil Nazi vibe, of course) that I've seen.

I've never seen him in anything else. But watching him in IB reminded me of what acting is supposed to look like.* There really are very few movies nowadays with actual actors instead of movie stars. It was like reading Bill Simmons on the old ESPN Page 2 and being lulled into thinking that he was an okay writer...and then having Chuck Klosterman guest write an article that exposes Simmons for the amateur that he is. "Oh right - this is how an actual writer writes".
*note that the last movie I saw before IB was Mockingjay**
**although Sutherland and PSH are almost always very good. JLaw - not so much, at least in that movie.

I'm not sure I've seen him in anything since then other than Django Unchained, in which I thought he was quite good, albeit not entirely dissimilar.

Since he is German (or Austrian) I can see why people think he's playing the same character - a German guy with an German accent.

Good, not great, is accurate. Until the movie spun out of control in the last scenes.
Tarrantino jumped the shark shortly after Pulp Fiction, and was definitely there within the first five minutes of Kill Bill. If ncs took me to that shitty movie, I totally might pretend I didn't want to fuck her.

Don't really care about Mockingjay, but don't forget Stanley Tucci and Jeffrey Wright. Both always good.

That could be one of the most ridiculous things you've ever said. Does this only apply to German actors? What about Brits? Australians? Southerners?

Yes. In each case. Same for Jews

I was being a little flip since you said that he always plays a quirky "German-type" in all of his roles. Of course he plays a "German-type". He's German.
