Totally. Always lending money, running Hollywood and showing up in Adam Sandler holiday songs.

There is a difference between being a German actor and making a living on your accent. If you use it to get roles, that's one thing. If you accentuate aspects of it as a cutesy part of your character instead of actually acting (see: Matthew McConaughey falling somewhere on the Southern weed head spectrum in every single role he plays), then you're playing a German-type.

Agree. Contrast him with Reese Witherspoon, who I'm not a huge fan of but can and does turn on/off the southern accent at will.

Stringer Bell is played by a British actor. Also, Omar got shot by a kid. In a convenience store.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

Well, of course. Can you possibly even imagine Catherine Zeta-Jones in a non-Welsh role?

Except for in Wolf of Wall Street!! He's not great or anything but he's not a southern weed head either. That's all I've got. I'm hoping that within a week or two I will not remember any of the finer details of that movie at all.

IB was decent, but quite uneven. The opening scene was highly unnerving, in the best way a suspenseful scene could be. The "there's a special rung in hell for those who waste good scotch" scene in the basement bar was also great.

The "Bear Jew" murdering people with baseball bats was too much, and Pitt's accent became grating. I was also tired of Soshana after a while. Not of looking at her, of course. But the character just felt incomplete.

I think Tarentino got burned out on doing complex female characters after Kill Bill. He made the same mistake in Django Unchained. Django's going through all this shit to get back to his wife -- spectacularly fucked up horrors -- and then we meet his wife and she's got minimal lines. He needs to get back to wherever he was when he was writing for Thurman in KB and Pulp Fiction.

Still, I'll watch everything the guy does. Even at his worst, he's more entertaining than 75% of everything out there.

it's like penske and ppnyc having a flame war...

Hardest day for me, that happens every few years, Harvard playing Yale for THE Conference title.

Pennypacker v Silliman-

of course, for all of us who understand the rivalry, we will all wake up winners, far ahead of the pack, the day after no matter.

Are folks interested in an NCAA bracket contest this year? I think we had about 8 entries last year . . .
