I could be wrong, but I believe Wonk's reply to me was meant to evoke the slow clap of approval/appreciation started by someone in the school-wide assembly when Freddie Prinz, Jr. tells Spicolli that he's always loved him despite having made a bet with the asshole jock that he could get Selma Blair's character to recite Whitman poetry while standing on a desk that one time in band camp.

My australian cousins tell me that dago is used there too, but "wop*" becomes "wog." not sure that guinea is worse.
