I have a hard time hearing someone talk about the "new voter realities" when they weren't old enough to vote the last time around. FWIW, I didn't invest in dot-com stocks either.

I could see a chunk of people voting for Bush, but not wanting to tell a poll. they feel guilty because they really believe the "soft on terror," but don't want to admit it.

My main hope is this, tuesday I'll be watching the Piston's hang a banner then watching Ben Wallace teach Yao some lessons. Back home at 11:30- I want it over by then. Its possible, everything contested is in the East.

I originally read this last part as, "everything is contested in the East" -- double entendre. Voting and hoops. Eastern Conference = Detroit's defense. Western Conference = no defense.

I then realized I gave you too much credit.

I agree. I never talk to pollsters.

On the other hand, I'm sure Bubba takes lots of calls at the gun club.

Isn't NY in the East still? It's not contested there.

this is meaningless, because the polls say what they say, but over the past few weeks the News has consistanly had it tied. I post only because you posted only to say i lied. I don't know what you linked to here, I don't know what a poll may say today. I do know the News has been consistant that its tied over the past few weeks.

PS you did give RT your paypal info, didn't you?

In its defense, that transcipt from David Kay indicated that the entire nation of Iraq had 2/3 the amount of explosives that are present in the entire USA. Also not mentioned are literally 7 million firearms, a few Al-Queda linked guys and gals, a missing Saddam Hussein and 51 other people to fill out a deck of cards (plus many more who wouldn't fit in the deck) etc. etc.

Don't get me wrong, I think Rummy/Bush made a mistake and didn't listen to his original commanders, instead finding someone he agreed with and then putting them in charge. However, even if they send a quarter-million in, I don't think there was any way to secure all of this stuff and still fight a war and search for things that set off radiation and chemical detectors, etc. etc. etc.

There were articles more than a year ago, but well after the invasion/conquest, where they were describing the process for dismantling and destroying weapons. It sounded insane.

Some American company would set up an explosives containment chamber, and they would put stuff in a bit (say, 1 155mm shell) at a time. THan they would incinerate/explode it. Maybe a few hundred a day. The entire tone of the article was, okay, so we do this for the next 2000 years, and then we can get on to the stock of grenades.

Ultimately, this solution is a technical/economic matter. Somebody needs to come up ways to dispose of this stuff in a system that can be built quickly and operated efficiently.

Otherwise, if you want to avoid even the hint of stories like we've seen the last year, you would need 2/3rds of America's military and police forces (several million people) keeping a lid on a country that is as heavily armed as Iraq.

Which is to say, my original criticism still stands, but there is no way we ever could have sent enough people to keep a lid on all of the dangerous arms in Iraq.
Lord knows I'm glad (hope) that this story is hurting Bush, but this is the truth.

We must be looking at different polls. But, what the heck? , You're due for a win.

If this was the administrations first reaction, we wouldn't be talking about it now.

Instead, y'all went with "the lying liberal press is trying to steal the election."
