I believe I've mentioned this before, but I once got an email from a sorority sister, bemoaning the fact that it was a "doggie dog world".

Toughskins live. The braggin' dragon, no.

I love this description:

Rough and tough, just like your little indestructable guy, this Toughskins jean has sturdy cotton fabric that will get him through the scrapes of childhood. He may be outnumbered on the playground, but at least his jeans will stay intact with their thick weave and sturdily-stitched hems. Zip-fly with snap closure. 100% Cotton. Machine washable. Imported.

It had might as well say, "he may be outnumbered and ridiculed on the playground for wearing Toughskins, but at least he won't come crying home to Mommy with a hole in his knee!"
Moreover, when he grows up, he will be a brilliant lawyer and not only will he show those bullies, who will wallow in the mediocre superficial conformity of adulthood, that living well is the best revenge, but he'll also never forget the durability of his Sears wardrobe.

Inconceivable? I do not think that that word means what you think it means.

Breaking News -- 96 year old dies!!
|
Was it breaking news on CNN or something? He was a huge deal in the golf world. Like an Arnie dying or a Nicklaus dying, though I admit that he is very old (what I read was 94, but still very old). The PGA stop in Dallas is named after him and he has attended the tournament and watched the play at 18 since they named it after him. His presence was the main reason that tourney got any big name players, I believe.
Anyway, the answer to Hank's question is I knew he was still alive, though my death pool picks don't reflect that (and surprisingly Mr. Man's do not either). I think I had him on my list one year, but I'm too lazy to go back and search.

Yes, it was breaking news on CNN. I appreciate that he was a big deal in the golf world. I was just making a little joke.

I really wanted to have a Braggin' Dragon shirt. Until leaving for college, I had a little stuffed Braggin' Dragon on a shelf in my room.

In your school, was Braggin Dragon above Le Tigre?

Hogwarts was the only school where Braggin' Dragon beat Le Tigre.
I think I was savvy enough to not wear my Braggin' Dragon polo shirt freshman year of high school. This does not mean I was stylish in high school, although I did have one reversible paisley Generra sweater that was the exception to that rule.
