Camry Solara Convertible

In this customized Chrysler 300C, ASC thinks it has hurdled the primary stumbling blocks to such a vehicle--namely side-impact safety and structural rigidity--through the use of items such as an innovative bulkhead and what they call "tunnel doublers."

That piece of crap doesn't get near a 67 suicide door Continental convertible. Who the fuck wrote that review? The 67 Continetal convertible is a classic. Those 300s are nice, but they've got nobusiness comparing it to the 67 Lincoln.

Not inherently. They have this reputation in part because RWD cars, such as mustangs and corvettes, come with tires ill-equipped to handle snow. And, also, because the car is pulling rather than pushing, they're less likely to fishtail as a result of driver error, and therefore appear to handle less badly in snow.
Properly equipped and driven, an RWD car will be fine in snow.

Disagree, 2X.
I had a 98 Eldorado touring coupe for a year a few years back (long story). FrontWD- excellent in snow. I have had about twelve different SUVs in my life which were outfitted with snow tires. They were all rear wheel drive until switched into 4 wheel drive. In RWD - with deep grooved snow tires - those SUVs were Useless in snow. I have a properly weighted RWD sedan now - useless in snow. FrontWD works 100X better than RWD. My sister had a Volvo with FrontWD which ran perfectly in snow. A buddy of mine had a FrontWD Saab which we took on ski trips instead of an Explorer I had at the time. FrontWD is the shit.
I know one other guy who said RWD was just as good in snow as FrontWD - he was the guy who sold me my RWD sedan.

Old Skool.
How sweet is this?
With gas prices being what they are, I could almost justify this.

That is sweet. Unfortunately the costs of long-term medical care are only increasing (same problem keeps me off a Vespa).

Pretty sure you'd only need short term medical care if you rode a motorcycle.

I do see your point, misguided though it may be.

Cool
Toyota Motor Corp. hopes to offer cars with a medicated cloth seat cover designed to help heal rashes.
“It’s important for us to continue to push this envelope,” Jim Press, president of Toyota’s U.S. division, told the Reuters Autos Summit on Thursday, referring to a host of features being developed to enhance the driving experience.
Toyota is also looking at a steering wheel that could help diabetics by allowing them to measure their blood sugar levels by simply gripping the wheel.
Taking that a step further, the wheel, in conjunction with other technology, will also be able to gauge a driver’s temperament and blood pressure, adjusting the color of the headlights on the car to warn others of the driver’s mental state.
“It would give other drivers on the road a signal on which cars they must stay away from,” Press said. “It will be a few more years before consumers see this technology in the market,” he added.
Cool. Spooky'd be on the road all by himself.

What's next? A partnership with Dunkin donuts so that the nav unit is programed to take you to the closest sugary goodness if it's out of line?

That would work. Or a scale in the seat to take you to the nearest health club if your weight goes over 300 lbs.

I am so not a car person
and I had to look at three different car sites to figure out which fancy-type car has the rearing horse (it is not maserati or lamborghini, it's ferrari), so I swear I am not shitting you. Recall also my intense hatred for SUVs.
Anyway, I think I saw this:
when I was driving up the coast a couple weeks ago. I was horrified, and keep forgetting to post to see what insight people have on this. When I google it, people seem to think it is a photoshop. It looked (to my undiscerning eye) like the pictures from the back; I didn't look at the front.

Oh wait, the last post on this says it was made for the Sultan of Brunei. Or maybe that some other regular-looking cars were made for him by someone connected with Ferrari. But this (blech) SUV had the horse on the back. Whatever.

Anyway, thought you all might have an interest.

New Civic
Saw it in the flesh. Surprisingly great looking car. Looks like what the 3 series should have.
