Yes, that's correct, very good. I guess it's telling how old I'm getting if I reveal that I got nice poker chips this year...no more flimsy plastic chips for this aging degenerate.

No, no, my dad got them when he was much younger than you -- I think he got them at around 45. Don't feel old.

You will all be relieved to know that at long last I have my home computer back up and running with firewall and anti-virus working (it only took about 5 weeks and 3 re-formats). I reinstalled true poker last night and I'm ready to play. Anyone interested in setting up a game? Maybe this Sunday night?

Truepoker's system requirements limit OS choice to Windows, unfortunately. ( See http://www.truepoker.com/getting_started.html )
As for Linux, you can run Windows binaries if you install WINE ( See http://www.winehq.com/ ), which allows Windows APIs to be run on various types of *nix.

Sounds like I am out. We no longer have any windows machines -- the OM transformed his dell laptop to linux and we already knew that it doesn't run on osx.
Enjoy the game.

I guess it depends if we have enough folks or not. With e/o out and flinty otherwise occupied, I'm not sure if we should try now or just wait for a better time for people. Thoughts?
If we have enough people, I would suggest 8 or 9 CST.

I'm game, but I will be trying to play from dial-up, and I have no idea as to how well that will work.

I'm in. Technologically I'm all set. I don't really know how to play, but I'm sure I can do better than that moron from that stupid band did on Celebrity Poker.
And aV -- dial up? How can you live that way? Do you have indoor plumbing?

anyone who wants to play just needs to go to truepoker.com and download the software (and sign up for a username) in advance. if you have cable modem/dsl, the download should take 15 minutes or less. dial-up obviously is slower.
I'll call it for 8:30 p.m. CST on Sunday, on the Maxim play for fun server (there are three servers there, so make sure you are on the right one...). I'll set up a table when I get there. Hope people can make it!
