See my previous example.

The old saying is

Q. How do you make a small fortune in the wine business?

A. Start with a large fortune.

I've known a lot of artists. Many end up waiting tables or being bike messengers or doing graphic design and bitching about "controlled creativity." Or teaching kids who they don't like. Artists who are successful (I don't mean rich, just enough to live off their art) seem pretty happy, but are few and far between.

Chefs? Seriously? Cooking school, like most vocational schools, is a bigger rip-off than law school.

A pregnant 12 year old, but yes.

I know that. I wasn't going with a money maker.

Agree on that one, and in my experience this includes the non-owner people too.

Which reminds me just how much this discussion shows the collective age around here. In the good old days we would at least be discussing who to pick for the 48 hour romp, both celebrity and on board. (Noting Gwink's contribution), today there is actual discussion of bread v. action.

Sad, really.

Nah, nothing to worry about. I really like my job. But if I could stop working and still afford all the shit I like to do? I'd grab that in a heartbeat. But it's not going to happen.

Unless the voices in my head tell me to do something different.

Being indecisive, I hadn't gotten down to just one pick, but she'd be a front running.

Was it you that was squeamish about TM's porn star? I kind of think porn might be the way to go for a 48 hour sexapalooza, so maybe Sasha Grey or a pre-implant Katie Morgan would be in the running too. I'm also a sucker for Mary Louise Parker, and an older experienced woman wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing either.

I wish to retire.

Aside from bumping my parents off, or winning the lottery, that ain't gonna happen soon. Which means it ain't gonna happen soon.

Re: Lamest k race win ever

You know, after the second straight year, I bet every Walmart shopper from Huntsville to Mobile will start to look at this and think "Well, hell. That's nice and all, but I saw that thing last time I was here. Now where's that special on the Fritos again?"

Train conductor offers a ride to 16 y.o. passenger. Check the article for an even more tasteless double entendre, apparently unintentional.

A bunch of Walmart shoppers will go because they've heard there would be a big piece of crystal there.
