A Real Speech

Can you count, suckahs? I say the future is ours. If you can count. Now look at what you have before you. You've got Indiana sitting next to California. We've got Virginia right by Massachusets. Nobody is wasting nobody. That is a miracle. And miracle is the way things ought to be.
You're standing right now with 57 Senators from our 50 states. And there are over 255 more Congressmen from the House. That's 312 hardcore members. 2,534.5, counting democratic delegates. And 66,361,433 more, not organized, but ready to fight. 66,363,967.5 soldiers.
Now there ain't but 214 Republican Senators and Reps in the whole town, can you dig it? Can you dig it? CAAAAAN YOOOOOU DIG IIIIIIIIT?

You missed the most important element--dress code. Will this speech be delivered in morning pants, or in a fleece-lined brown leather duster?

If he has my log-in, "I" may owe y'all some apologies. How long have "I" been gone?

2. I don't think either The Bangles or The Go-Go's qualify as guilty pleasures. What's more Susanna Hoffs has done some excellent work recently with Matthew Sweet. They have an album called Under the Covers, Vol. 1 with some nice takes on Neil Young and The Who, among others. I'd wager she'll be sitting in with Matthew Sweet for at least his LA tour date next week. She's got one of the most underappreciated female voices in rock/pop music.
Belinda Carlisle actually put out a well-received French-language album (titled Voila) last year. In fairness to those shoppers who might want to click the Amazon link (is there an Amazon link on here now?) it seems pretty clear that Ms. Carlisle's Playboy photos (taken when she was 42!) were more well-received than her new album.

I bought some Hank III on the suggestion of a buddy who said it was great stuff for freeway driving. "Hellbilly," I believe is the style.
Imagine Slayer playing banjos with Roy Acuff's voice sped up from 33 to 45 on the vocals. Now fill every song with a run of mindless cursing, ranting at the music industry and the a few screams here and there.
Perhaps it is perfect California freeway music.
ETA: He has a punk side project. God only knows what that sounds like.
