I don't understand why he had to say what race the people were. What if I had said, "Wow, I saw a picture of a line of 2000 people long at a GA polling place and they were white people." You would have been like, WTF? Why mention they are white. Then Sidd/AG would have started screaming I was a racist.

Tell me why you aren't outraged by the Daschle lawyer that had to be forcibly removed from inside a polling place by the local Sheriff because of his harrassment of voters.
Really? How do you know she wasn't in the wrong fucking polling precinct and shouldn't be voting in the first place? Tell me. How?
You're like goddamn chicken little with all your bogus claims of racism.
Really? Where's the outrage???
Why would you have heard of any? You someone - anyone - is going to brag about doing it before the numbers come out? You think that Yglesias would bother to report it?
|
Are you gonna be funny again after the election? Or do we have to wait until all the appeals are exhausted?

If that's so, do you feel that the SD judge who ruled today that Thune supporters writing down the license plates of voters was improper was, well, wrong?
|
You mean the Daschle-appointed judge who made a ruling based upon the testimony of one witness - that one?

It was more a joke along the lines of "you, club, would never have a willing sex partner" but no, I have never been with a catholic woman -- or any woman, for that matter. You really need to work on the humor thing, honey.
I did have a Catholic guy try to talk me into sex by saying something to the effect of "you are thinking about it, and thinking about something and doing it are the same thing so you may as well do it." unhappily for him, I was not catholic and didn't subscribe to that theory. It was funny though. I kind of regret that I refused to date him.
Oh well.

No, it's not his job. He has volunteered to further the interests of the GOP. There's a difference.

Because I don't know about it. I read about a GOP poll watcher in Milwaukee who was (incorrectly) talking to voters and telling them to take off Kerry buttons (OK there, apparently). But he was told he was wrong, and allowed to stay. So maybe we've established that the authorities in Wisconsin are more reasonable than those in South Dakota.

I didn't make any claim about her, did I?
And point me to a bogus claim of racism. I blinked and missed it.

If you read my post yesterday, you saw me say that the only folks getting defrauded when that happens is the Democratic Party, which paid someone to register voters and instead got fake names. I could be outraged, but I'd rather chalk it up as the sort of result you get when you pay people menial sums to do unattractive work. It happened with the firms paid by the GOP to get petition signatures for Nader, and I didn't get outrage or accuse the GOP of fraud then, either.

Because if it's happening, you'd think people would get caught, but no.
Meanwhile, there's no question that lots of people get prevented from voting at all, but most conservatives don't seem to have any problem with that. I guess I'm a little unclear on the principled belief that it's better to keep 10 people who deserve to vote from voting if this prevents 1 person from voting fraudulently. Why is that?

As a U.S. Senator, Tom Daschle doesn't actually get to appoint judges.

That has more to do with their increased standards for calling a state than anything else. After the mess of 2000, they now won't call a state unless the statistical power of their sample indicates that there is less than a 1 in 300 chance they are wrong.
