That has more to do with their increased standards for calling a state than anything else. After the mess of 2000, they now won't call a state unless the statistical power of their sample indicates that there is less than a 1 in 300 chance they are wrong.
|
I think it had more to do with the fact that at the time Less posted, none of the precincts in either state were reporting.
But your more complicated, totally made-up explanation sounds nice.

I bet that if you go to the dr, s/he can give you drugs to clean up that nasty smell and green discharge.
I'm positing that club has no sexual interest in the back door. Club, am I right or wrong?

CNN is calling several states already. And, regardless of what Fox says, the reason VA and SC weren't being called when Less posted was because no precincts had reported yet.

As a U.S. Senator, Tom Daschle doesn't actually get to appoint judges.
|
I stand corrected.
Judge Piersol is a close friend of Daschle who (1) acted as his personal lawyer years ago, (2) was nominated by him for appointment to the bench and (3) did a radio commercial in support of Daschle last week.

Wow. I'm amazed the Repubs let his nomination come to a vote.

So you're saying that a less biased judge would have had no problem with trying to intimidate Native American voters by writing down the license plates of their cars?
eta: Let me be perfectly clear. I am certainly not suggested that anyone who supports Thune or opposes Daschle is a racist. But believe me, South Dakota has its share of bigots, and the animus there tends to be more focused on Native Americans than other minority groups.

Why is writing down their license plates intimidating?

An example of how the GOP efforts keep people from voting. Still waiting for someone on the other side of the aisle to explain why it's OK to prevent 10 people from voting legitimately to deter 1 from voting fraudulently.

Daschle's lawsuit sought an injunction prohibiting GOP monitors from polling places statewide.
The ruling stated that GOP operatives were not permitted to write down license plate numbers of voters in a particular county.
If anything, Daschle's "victory" was nothing more than a decisive loss - couched in polite terms by an old friend to save Daschle further embarrassment.
