But we weren't talking about awesome . You were talking about how cheese on cold sandwiches mystifies you. I don't understand how someone could be mystified by the common.

 | Look, I don't carry around books as a prop, I carry around books because I get bored on the subway. And sometimes I want to go into a bar for a drink but don't really want to talk with anyone and it provides a good excuse to ignore people. It's not like I Adder out or anything.

I've found books of crosswords to be very effective. You have to put up with annoyance of some chick who thinks she's smart writing in wrong answers, but hey, there are other puzzles in the book.

This may not work in places populated by former reality tv people. It works better in places where people read, or at least have heard of books.

Someone needed to hold your bacon on this.

 | Ha. You're hilarious. It's almost like you forgot we met.

I no longer pick up women in bars. But when I was, I found that talking to the chicks I was interested in was pretty effective. But then again, when I want to read, I go somewhere that makes sense and isn't filled with people talking and drinking. When I want to read and drink, I go home. Hell, I never tried sitting at a bar, reading and ignoring as an approach. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen anyone do this who wasn't specifically waiting for someone else. But what do I know? I guess I just live in a place filled with former reality tv people instead of people who call other people nigger-lovers. But you'll understand if I'm not itchin' to move.

 | Look, I just said it worked, and it does, and it's like you almost never met me or you'd know that I wouldn't say that if it didn't. I'm sorry that you are so ashamed of your sordid, venal past that this hurts you and prompts you to go on one of your patented rants against, well, whatever. It's good to see some things never change, even if your change of venues does.

And when did I ever, ever suggest you should move here? Hell, I don't want to be here, I'm just stuck here for a bit because my brother is practically dead and my Mom needed help with him. I guess I'd rather be among former reality tv people than people making cracks about chaining me to the back of a pickup because of whom I voted for in the last presidential election, though perhaps if I were around them I'd chain myself, were there any pickups around.

And I think you may be a little wound up because you obviously suck at crosswords.

SO THERE!!!

And go re-read. I've never even tried this in East Texas. There is no subway here, so I don't carry books around.

I don't want them to end up as kindling.

 | I've been to Beaumont for a few days, and I'm fairly sure I could have gotten away looking at a cross word puzzle magazine. but you don't need to restrict your stories to the Arklatex. any story of book reading leading to orgasms, (with a lady, I remember the sticky magazines under your mattress in HS) please relate.

The ArkLaTex is up in the armpit of NE Texas, where the worst attributes of people from Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana are free to celebrate their Freedom from civilized society, apparently. Beaumont is still close enough to Houston that civilization imposes on this Freedom. It is known as a plaintiff-friendly forum, however, and I have no doubt that is how you found yourself there.

If you are still juvenile enough to want fuck-stories-from-crosswords, you have my email address.
eta : I doubt anyone beyond you, or PLF if he is as desperate for new material as he apperas, really cares about reading this. It may win me an Internet, though, with your careful editing.
