I don't want to repost it to call more attention to it. you made a reference to something specific, that I have never posted directly about.

Or galvanized. But you want to use screws--they won't back out with temperature changes.

I've seen porches with screws - they seem more obtrusive.

Not so much, if done right. It can be a problem if you paint the porch.

Not if they're acrylic.

But seriously, front or back of the house? Going to paint it or just seal/stain it? How far off the ground? How big?

You're okay with using nails for the framing, but the deck, unless you're using tongue and groove, you should use screws. The nails will back out and stand above the surface, which requires more maintenance and isn't really safe.

So, can I just take the covers off the cushions on the couch and take them to the cleaner?

It seems deceptively easy.

It might be, depending on the fabric. If they shrink even a tiny bit, you may never be able to get them back on, and even if you do, your cushions might end up lumpy.

I recommend you call the manufacturer. Even if it's okay, they may have advice for you regarding what method the cleaner should use to clean the fabrics.

It might be safer to have someone come to your house to clean the upholstery.

Now that you mention it, I think that the couch came with a little booklet. I will hunt it down. Thanks!

That is not why I am cleaning the upholstery. I should have put a disclaimer in the first post. It's been at least 5 years and I have 2 cats and keep my windows open all the time in a very dirty city.

Nice "your."
