Sweet. More my price. While ogling girls in yoga pants keeps me going to the gym I'm thinking somedays I'll have to a workout in place.

Spouse of one local cop (who's father is a retired cop) says that their kid will not be going to the Catholic middle and high school with the rest of her Catholic elementary school classmates. She says that the local suburban school district is better. A few of us roll our eyes. Her brother notes that the local Catholic high school had been recruiting basketball players "from the projects" and that there are discipline problems - "these kids act like they own the place, walking in and out of classrooms whenever they want."

Trade union cousin: "oh, man, I remember when I played baseball there that we had the run of the joint. Never took an exam my senior year. I was awesome."

Older retired cousin: "it's terrible. No respect."

Me: "What?"

Older retired cousin: "they don't want to learn."

Medical professional cousin, to spouse of cousin: "are you kidding me? You're pulling Seamus out of Bishop O'Malley's because there's a few black kids?"

Cousin spouse: "we just think she'd do better at [lily white suburban school]."

State policemen, uncomfortably: "uh, that's kind of the point that medical professional cousin was making.

Trade union cousin to older required cousin: "no respect? They're varsity lettermen. That's how we act, black, white, yellow. Jesus, don't be such a dick."

Not Bob to older cousin: "he just made a good point. Did it bother you when local polis cousin got trade union cousin out of a DUI and underage possession before the districts?"

Other local police cousin: "that's different. He was family."

Medical professional cousin: "and was the knucklehead Italian kid he was with family?"

State police cousin: "hey, here's the waitress -- let's order,"
I was trying to suggest that some could be both bigoted and some degree of woke. But I really enjoyed this little scene -- more, please.

You'll get there soon enough.
You should be asking yourself how you ever left. Or maybe ask your physician.

We need to get him writing new episodes of Blue Bloods. I'd watch those.

Aha. That makes sense. Since the 60/40 came up in the discussion of Irish American racism, I suppose my use of "bigot" meant more racist than not racist, and "woke" meant "Not Racist if graded on the white people curve."

Thanks. Too many typos and autocorrect goofs, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thank god I don't need hair plugs.
Please don't tell me it's crossfit. Seriously, if it is crossfit, do not tell me.

Sebastian has turned to crossfit to achieve his goal of becoming an elite obstacle racer.

Let's listen to some Meters. The Daily Dose is "6V6 LA":

Is this a "Crossfitters never shut up about crossfit" thing or something else?

Partly that and partly just my opinion on how dumb it is.

Is "awake," "enlightened," or the cumbersome "awakened" so bad?

ETA: I've no idea how to get rid of that exclamation point thing I accidentally inserted.

Fuck no.

I just jacked the time, endurance, and weight amounts to seriously exhausting levels and stopped eating anything but salmon, tuna, shellfish, steak, and chicken.

Cut out scotch and bourbon, too. Just gin, vodka, champagne, and rose. Occasional beer.

I'm hurt you think I'd ever do any class, or use a trainer.

It's called having a kid.

Or being married.

Wait, you are a professed seeker of yoga pants, but won't go to group fitness classes? I'm having a hard time squaring those two concepts.

I also think I may have seen you say that you have given up scotch and bourbon, but I'm afraid to look back at your post to confirm because even the possibility that you said this has left me deeply unsettled and I'm concerned that if I actually saw that in writing, it would burn my eyes out. But you keep doing you!

Also, gin AND vodka? For my entire drinking life gin and vodka have always been Eastasia/Eurasia for me.
