So as to pay, I’m seeing some stuff that says women’s team get a salary of $30k. Also saw a cap of $800k per team. Also saw FB memes that say if the women lose they get nothing?

So is the problem the men get paid more and don’t have the $800 limit cuz they aren’t even in the tournament? I mean the money generated Sunday $30k is obscene. But were the other teams paid better? I can’t find a reliable answer.

I don't like Boris Johnson, but I don't see how Brits could expect him to back Kim Darroch. Through no fault of his own, Darroch could no longer do his job in DC. He had to go. As with so much of Brexit, the story here is of British politicians harming the country for their own advancement (something Boris Johnson is no stranger to).

I don't think he was harming the country for his own advancement, unless there is something I don't know about the episode (I haven't paid that much attention), but the reports strike me as, if anything, tame compared to what would have been said if they'd sent a good Scot over to report.

But, yeah, he has to go. It's an ambassador's job to go quietly and quickly when these things happen.

The Brits have always been more direct and crude, but with style. I’d like to see our politicians adopt a similar approach. Hearing Trump and Biden challenge each other to fisticuffs is a sad and embarrassing spectacle. I want hear Joe say, “I’d beat that outer borough goon like a gong.” Perhaps comment on Trump’s “ample carriage, carried like a Kardashian, or a victim of Klinefelter’s Syndrome, precluding his purchase of a properly tailored suit.”
