He's a pop culture blender. I think he knows he's thinking himself up his own ass and getting nowhere, but the references along the way are a lot of fun.

He could adopt a sneering tone, but I think it was far, far more ironic than genuine. He'd tell me I was a moron and then offer to buy me a drink if I were ever in his neighborhood.
He was wrong about broccoli, however, and that will always perplex me. Who doesn't like broccoli as a side? If you have to have a side vegetable, broccoli, asparagus, and spinach are the big three. He preferred carrots, if I recall.
Madness. Carrots are fucking awful. Now sweet enough, not tart enough - perfectly wrong in every appreciable regard.

Re: Implanting Bill Gates's Micro-chips In Brains For Over 20 Years!
I thought SOD’s 1st album was one of the most groundbreaking albums of all time. In a campy way it put a bow on an entire genre of music.
Turns out Billy Milano is one of my best friend’s brother in law but I’ve never seen him at a family gathering.

Slave, can you explain to me what Das Mannschaft was wearing against Hungary?

NWTAF? Asparagus makes your pee stink. I'd rather eat ass than that. And broccoli does suck, spinach I'll give you.
As to his behavior here, I am afraid I weaponized him. I actually ran him off with the Gilligan posts, but then he can back with teeth. But in person a good man.

Uh…. Yeah.
I tuned to the game near the middle with the sound off, and I honestly mistook the kits and immediately assumed the white jerseys were Germany.
Pink is not the new black. Pink blending into black is worse.
AND YET, it was reported this was the best selling alternate Away kit in years. Which would explain a lot about Germany the last decade or so.

Really? (Not Milano being that close socially, but SOD being groundbreaking.)
I'll have to give it a re-listen, but at the time, I recall it being like punked-up Anthrax that elevated the idea of not taking one's art seriously to a form of art in itself.

Thin, well-cooked asparagus in hollandaise sauce, or lemon and salted butter, or duck fat and shoyu, is perfection.
Or as GGG might've put it, your palate embarrasses Philistines.
I never understood the Gilligan posts. But I never understand a lot of things.
Can't compare to ass, but I'll take your word for it.

Oh, it's a truly seminal album.
And the NYHC hard core guys initially hated it because they thought 2 Anthrax metal guys were mocking them by literally getting drunk with Billy Milano and writing and recording an album in 48 hours.
And the metal guys weren't actually sure what to think of it.
Icky also isn't wrong in that MOD got a little, um, inappropriate.

My family did asparagus under the broiler with fresh mozzarella. If it caramelized correctly, it was fantastic. [Truth be told, that was less than 50% of the time]. Otherwise, it was smelly, mushy green cheesy dreck.
As I've grown older, I now like the white asparagus.

I don’t know post Black Flag Rollins too well. Damaged of course remains a favorite. And Slip It In.

My husband's Slayer story is he fell asleep one time next to a speaker case just off stage during one of their shows, irritating the drummer. He'd had a brutal load in and was dead on his feet. The actual show was the only time in the surrounding 36 hours or so he had time to sleep.
His Rollins story is he was about to do a spoken word set at Lollapalooza '92 when suddenly everyone left the tent. Rollins was also on the stage and said, "Rage Against the Machine just started." My husband said "Who?" Rollins said, "Go." And my husband said his mind was blown.
(I saw them earlier that year at my dorm's spring bash, but due to an unfortunate tequila jello shot mishap, I was unable to appreciate it for what it was. And once again, I apologize to Miles Denison, wherever you are, for puking all over you.)

They made him leave for a minute. And Plated sent me a PM saying he found them hilarious. Point is, some people did.

But in retrospect the noncampy stuff is epic. Case in point. https://music.apple.com/us/album/ide...7?i=1048072395
