I have a picture of her standing in front of a step-and-repeat that I made for a Variety event a few years ago. That picture and the one of Christina Hendricks in front of a sign I made for an Emmy party are two of my favorite celebrity shots for my portfolio...

You are probably the only person who noticed the step and repeat.

I found the picture. It's safe to look -- she's wearing closed-toe shoes.

It is the backdrop that celebrities walk in front of when they attend a party or premiere and where the press gets photo ops. In the case of the Power of... events for Variety, it's a 20-100 foot long wall that is erected with the event graphics (and the logos of the big sponsors). For smaller events it can be much more flimsy (some are cloth or canvas).

This makes me question the story about the ex-aunt (? or whatever your tenuous degree of relationship to the relative was). Even an aspiring B-lister would know what a step and repeat is.

Re: Halle

That's good work - you made sure Variety's logo appeared right at breast height. Hard to miss.

When I first met my husband, he was an event producer in LA and he did a TON of red carpets. He probably could put up a step and repeat in his sleep.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, missy - next you'll be saying that Not Bob didn't really get all angsty about whether it was too forward of him to compliment the pixie cut of his favorite cocktail waitress at the Dew Drop Inn.

my ex-aunt's credits:

Class- originally had a major part, but cut down to "friend at bar." No red carpet.

American Pie: The Naked Mile- direct to video.

The In-Laws- the only non-famous actor of the In-Laws, walked the premiere qith no one caring

Several Canadian TV shows, including "street Legal" "Degrassi the Next Generation" and some soaps.

Canada= metric system, no step and repeat.
