Also, I have some tamiflu from last year, and there is some indication that the anti-virals are effective. He knows more than most how these things work, so I'm not that worried, but he's also made it clear that we have to keep this thing away from him.

Good for you guys.

He was five semesters in before he realized the internet had not been invented yet.

Hank's story begins in 19-dickety-two. He had to say "dickety" cause that Kaiser had stolen our word "twenty". He chased that rascal to get it back, but gave up after dickety-six miles…

I know I went there because I can read it on my Facebook, but honestly I don't have strong memories of the days on campus- maybe too focused on long nights mapping the human genome and whatnot?

He also wore an onion on his belt, because that was the style at the time...

Re: Objectively intelligent.
So, the Dem primary contest is functionally over. Were Bernie good at politics, what concessions should he be seeking from Biden for gracefully backing away and/or attempting to bring his backers into the fold?

Maybe he should use the remaining primaries to keep trying to build a movement to advance his policy goals. What he should depends on what he wants -- is he trying to get himself elected, is he trying to bring attention to certain issues, is he trying to push the Democratic Party to the left, etc.?

He doesn't seem to be the type to understand that this would be to his benefit.

Nope. Fundamentally, his campaign has been an ongoing demonstration that he is very bad at politics. Unable to court allies (how much could a real relationship with Clyburn have helped him?), unable to grow his coalition, and, likely, now unable to take advantage of his strength to actually accomplish something.
ETA: On Clyburn, when asked whether he asked for an endorsement, Bernie said "his politics are not my politics." Like, maybe so, but if you'd cultivated a relationship, maybe Clyburn would have declined to make an endorsement. That's not "winning" though, so it's out.
Of course, that last one is consistent if, as Ty alluded to, his primary goal is promoting himself.

I think he asks one of his aides every day how much has come in from his never-ending on-line fundraising, then asks what current book royalties are, and then smiles when he hears the two numbers and asks everyone how he can double down on the grift.
Bernie is going to keep running until the mortgages on all three houses are paid off. And he buys that fourth one he's had his eye on.

He's a 7x-year-old guy with heart problems. I can't believe he's running to enrich himself. There are many better ways to do that. But just as every circuit court judge thinks they belong on the Supreme Court, every Senator thinks they should be President. And he's come so close, compared to most of us, and he surely knows this is his last shot at it.
