1. US Citizen/resident or not? If yes, then 2 *will* work.

2. Consular office (generally? always?) have a notary available, so they can notarize a document of, at least, US citizens.

3. Generally speaking, the filing needs to be in english, so if the local language is not english, you wouldn't be able to use a local notary w/o additional hoops.

4. I'm, sure someone else here can give a complete answer.

Does anyone know of a good divorce lawyer in the San Francisco Bay Area?

I know a couple of mediocre ones, but my advice to friends is that unless you're in the CCSF, you'll experience more benefit from having the most recognizable one in your county courthouse than having the "best" in the Bay Area. That's because assets are all done by formula, but custody is where the action is, and credibility is more important than skill on the one issue that's in play.

My 2 cents. I've never been divorced.

I take it all back. All the Hollywood press tour jingoism and executive mismanagement is worth it if your governor is willing to send coded messages to Tom Ammiano in his veto messages.

He may have been asking for a friend, and I wanted to preserve his plausible deniability. I remember a time when anonymity mattered. Nice job, jackass.

I'm definitely not running on all cylinders today. I missed it until I read the article.
