I know. I'm sorry. I take it back. I thought that wound was old and closed you know.
I had no idea it was still fresh and bleeding.

It's actually kind of gone to pleasant memory now. But your post was still mean.

The others I cannot.
$20 is a little pricey, but in Sonoma and Napa, it's $5 for the crap tastings and $10-$15 for the "reserve" tasting. Unless you're at Opus One, then it's $25 and $35. And you don't get to keep the glass and no snacks. And that tasting is only 1 pour. But I've already told that story.

I guess now I have to find out if there are hotels available that weekend or if I can fly or will have to drive. I can't imagine getting a flight on Sunday. Are these wineries close enough to each other to drive in a day?
An article about Oregon Thanksgiving weekend wine tasting.

Btw, if you can track down a bottle of Coleman Vineyards '02 Estate Reserve Pinot, buy it. Very nice.

Nice article. Thanks. I recently discovered that there are still flights available on Thursday and Friday. Coming back may be a problem though.

Go back on Monday morning.

I bought some Abbotts Table and Sinister Hand this weekend. I will drink Oregon tonight.

Last night, WA, Isenhower Wild Alfalfa Syrah '02. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Unbelievably, we were able to get a flight back on Sunday. 7:00 am is going to be a tough one to make though.
So here are the wineries you all suggested. Any particular one is a "not to be missed" winery? Any way to check if they're actually open? In no particular order right now:
Archery Summit
Beau Freres (says no tasting room on their map)
Domaine Serene
Sylvan Ridge
Broadly (Claudia's Choice)
Domaine Drouhin
Torii Mor
Sineann
Owen Roe
Elk's Cove
Argyle
Willakenzie
Patricia Green

Oh, and skiing season's already begun. Yay!!!

Beau Freres does not have a formal tasting room, but they open up the winery for Thanksgiving weekend. Similar Patricia Green, last time I was there. Wear layers; if it's cold out, tasting at those places will not be heated.

Archery Summit is a beautiful, top-end facility (built with Pine Ridge Napa money), and should be fun (but pricey). May have mentioned this before, but they will have the cheese guy from one of Portland's more upscale restuarants pairing wines with cheese. Now I'm getting hungry.

Yes, the snow fall is welcome news after last year's suckage.

Thanks. You've been quite helpful. I'm really excited about Thanksgiving now.

So any recommendations for dinner? We decided to stay near the airport since we're leaving at an ungodly hour on Sunday.
Caprials still around?

Do you like mushrooms? The place gets great reviews. I haven't been. I'm not a big fan of the fungi, so I'm a bit skittish about the place.

Ollie, I thought you were having us all over for a big post-thanksgiving weekend dinner party? I was going to bring the Paigow as my date.....

Y'all are always welcome. We're even sans kids on the post-Thanksgiving Friday.

Yes. Except for shiitake. I hate shiitake. How do you not like the morels and chanterelles? Ehn, what am I talking about - I didn't really like mushrooms so much until about 5-6 years ago. Of course, my exposure was pretty much limited to those heinous canned things and button mushrooms.

Anywhere else you would suggest instead? Italian is always good.
