But when they played “Killing In The Name Of,” I suddenly realized that I was surrounded by a sea of thousands of identical 20-something alt-frat boys, all shirtless and all wearing the same black skull cap, and they were pumping their fists in the air in complete unison and screaming “Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” with the rehearsed choreography of a Third Reich rally. After the show, I approached one of the alt-frat boys and said, “Hey, um, do you realize that you actually ARE doing what they tell you?” He looked at me with vacuous contempt and said, “I’m an independent thinker!” Then he vomited all over his shirt.
I first saw them at a dorm party in 1992, where due to series of misadventures and some jello that would not set properly, I was blindingly drunk and puked all over the shirt of the dude I was crushing on. Sorry Miles! I have tickets to see them in El Paso in June. I have it at 50/50 on whether or not we'll make the show.

Ha! Jello shot vomit is the best vomit. Is Run The Jewels opening for them in El Paso? They were supposed to tour together last summer, but unclear if that is happening with the rescheduled tour. RATM/RTJ would be a killer line up.

The hoarding Dr. Seuss books is so precious. Now you have to go to #71.

Do all the folks eager to buy up Dr. Seuss realize its all pretty liberal in outlook? And that they are giving the money to the people who actually made the decision to pull six of the books? If I'm a Seuss heir, I say, hey, it really pays to pull the books we think do the least for his legacy, we boost sales of all the rest, and I'd start making this a regular event.

Eric Carle is like, Damn, why can't I have done a few more things I'm ashamed of.

This is the marketplace of ideas working. These buyers don’t realize they’re buying unnecessarily.

It also proves the rule that if you want to sell a lot of something, tell someone he might not be able to, or shouldn’t, buy it.

“Alcohol is bad. And never smoke pot.”

“Right, mom. Certainly won’t do that.”

Is the natural impulse to indulge in taboo the cure for this moral panic?

It reminds me that the best bit of marketing I ever did was when I started telling people I generally was not taking new clients.

Still, I think anyone (cough cough, Ted Cruz) who seriously starts arguing that this decision by Dr. Seuss' heirs constitutes some kind of cancel culture needs to be roundly laughed at and never taken seriously ever again. I mean, If I Ran the Circus, they'd be the clown show.

Unclear. We were going to go last summer, but *waves hands*...

Given that theoretically the vaccines will be widely available by then, our odds may have increased on going. G saw them at Lollapalooza back in the day.

I saw them at that Lollapalooza as well. Also a great show, but none of the times I saw them beats a dorm party, jello shot overload, puke-on-your-crush’s-shirt experience.

Prediction: If the vaccines have had their desired effect by the summer, this summer is gonna make the Summer of Love look like Monday night at the monastery.

Next day was Easter, so I had to call home. My father helpfully gave me hangover cures, which I desperately wrote down in the hopes something would alleviate the pain.

It's framed on my desk, to remind me what unset tequila jello can do to a girl.

"Gut of Cow?" Seems like making that would cure the hangover on its own.

Note to self: This is the link for the next time Sebby uses "woke" or some variant of it.
