Until recently, I had forgotten about this aspect of life in a law firm. But the reply-to-all to such a mass email is a thing of beauty.

The sad thing, is only 3 out of 60 people will get it.

I predict about 50 emails saying:

"I know you said you would do a google search for me but some weird video popped up."

And then I would have to explain The Rick Roll

Give us any rule, we'll break it.

It's been a couple of years, but I had a mediation in Milwaukee and stayed at the Hilton downtown. It's a restored old hotel, and I have admittedly middlebrow taste, but I liked the vibe. They named the conference rooms after brewery founders - my mediation was held in Joseph Schlitz, brewer of The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous.

As I recall, it wasn't too far from a bunch of bars, restaurants, and the lakeshore. I was there in the winter, though, so I can only tell you that their in-house restaurant was Not Bad. And the bartenders made a good Manhattan and gave a generous pour.

Maybe the Midwesterners in the class can share their wisdom?

What I told you but adding --

Every bartender out there knows how to make a good Manhattan or a good Old Fashioned.

I've never been there. But I certainly know people who have. PM me if you are still looking for info and I can ask around.

Seeking advice from Hank: I have been entering the New Yorker cartoon caption contest every week. Each week, regardless of the illustration, I suggest the caption, "Drunk girls know that love is an astronaut; it comes back but it's never the same." Each week, I am not selected. What am I doing wrong?

Stop sending it to the New Yorker, start sending it as a pitch to The Moth. Then you're in like Flynn.

I was seeking advice from Hank. Also, two things I have seen today:

1) Ironman tramp stamp on women getting ready to swim at the gym. It made me think of youknowwho . . . *sniff*.

2) "I [heart] guns, titties & Jeeps" bumper sticker. On a blue Jeep Wrangler with the license plate PJAX, which I assume is some sort of shorthand for premature ejaculation.

I like the approach, but you have to give it time. You're building up a persona that just takes a body of work, you need to get to where they start subconsciously moving the cartoons in the direction you want.

You might also create a few socks and have them post different flavors of that same caption. Repeated similar captions tell the judges you're on to something.

She gave me some dictation, but my strength is in administration.

Can I sue my wholly owned PLLC for sexual harassment?

My phone provider recently added (at no extra cost!) a feature that transcribes my voice mail messages and emails them to me. I just received the following email transcribing a message from a client:

Hey, [Got Fob] It's [female client's somewhat difficult name correctly spelled] You know what was gonna trick me. I love you and I didn't bring this up. I love looking at you know that with you got time you wanna come. I just actually went back can we can take off the list. We need to let you have the selfies. Thanks. Bye.

The real message was, alas, not as interesting.

Oh, Ashley Madison, you faker.

I came across this article today about how many women were actually using the site (hint: not many). The whole debacle is pretty sad.

I have a close family member who is likely headed to divorce over this. I understand her point of view (it's more about the lies and lack of trust than the account itself), but if there was like a 0% chance that him opening the account was actually going to lead to any action, aren't those extenuating circumstances?? Sigh.
