No that is most definitely my pants.

On that note, I may have to attend an event that I can't miss the night before a scheduled colonoscopy. Do I wear a diaper to the event?

I'm not adverse to the concept. I just don't know if I need it at this point. Omicron really didn't do much to me, and I think as research continues we might see improved boosts that will be better than what I can get today. Might want to go bareback through the Summer, when transmission tends to be lower.
I don't qualify, but my husband is waiting until fall to get his second booster unless the numbers start going up again.

Hopefully by the time Kanan is six months old there will be a vaccine for him.

There is some chatter about Paxlovid relapse.

Nah, get it now

and then another in the fall, likely.

There were two days in early January where I had a headache that wouldn't go away. I chalked up to new trimester in pregnancy, but maybe it was Omicron. I didn't have any other symptoms. My husband didn't have any symptoms either. Neither of us tested, so we'll never know. I don't THINK I had it, but I suppose it's possible. We were super careful for most of my pregnancy.

I got the 2d booster the day it was available (April) and I am planning on having to get another in the Fall.
Fuck it. If you and Hank are doing it, that's good enough for me. I'm in.

Likely it was Omicron. Omicron 1 was subtle. Felt like a sinus infection. No fever. Just this strange feeling like my head was swollen.

It sounds like it actually IS that hard, since the researchers you referenced aren't even sure.

Thanks for playing.
I switched from Nexium to Pepcid after I saw this study. https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/2020...-19-symptoms#1

The initial observation appears to have been correct: https://www.cshl.edu/famotidine-clin...tom-reduction/

I wonder if this made my recovery easier. Classic Covid came in hard, but left damn quickly. Unfortunately, Pepcid sucks at acid reduction compared to proton pump inhibitors.

Those things do not help in the airport or while the plane is at the gate with the engines off. I've also heard of captains that refuse to connect the ground air handling systems, even though they have that option.

That said, my brother has been flying commercial aircraft through the whole pandemic and hasn't gotten it (or got it completely asymptomatically).

The person there who had to fly in complaining about his flight and indicating he needed to take extra care. Everyone tested before hand.

These folks understand the situation.
Counterpoint: my wife, who works for a big health care nonprofit, attended on behalf of her org a fairly big local health care trade group (medtech, pharma, providers, etc) and was disappointed with the level of mask and other care. It's all political, now, and execs at those big companies are pretty red.

Tested on his own? Because I don't think any carrier or the gov't ever required it for pilots flying domestically.

If you're concerned about getting it, going to concerts or boxing matches, or anywhere people are yelling, probably isn't wise.
It's kind of wild we haven't made major investments in indoor air quality, especially at school. Instead, we've just denied that kids get it and spread it.

The whole Manchin/Sinema thing has me pretty pessimistic right now.

If you think any of this is untrue, think back to Charlie Rangel's statement 20 years ago that the surest way to start a Civil War would be to attempt to have a draft. Imagine Putin nuked something in Europe. Imagine for some reason we had to fight a WWIII in some traditional fashion (yes, I know it wouldn't go that way, but don't fight the hypo). Would Americans allow their kids to be drafted?

I certainly wouldn't. There's no way in hell. And I think about 90% of the country is on the same page with me, for numerous and varied but all valid reasons.
She's 5, so for the moment she wouldn't be that useful. But if she was old enough, it would be up to her. I would support her if she decided either way in your scenario.

We had a closing dinner for the roughly $2 bil in deals we closed for a client in the last year the night before my first ever colonoscopy (they recommend at 45 now). Mighta gone otherwise. Probably not though.

You'll have an easy excuse if you get trapped in a conversation you want out of.
