There was a run on deep-fried babies. They're out. Now they're putting lipstick on bunnies, hoping to fool people.

I just got a car with XM Radio and traded in a car with Sirius. Anyone have both subscriptions, who can make recommendations as to similar stations? I can't figure out the type of music based on XM's hipper-than-thou station descriptions: Fred? Ethel? The hell?

I'm looking for Alt Nation and Coffee House equivalents, to get started. I've already found AC/DC radio on XM.

I like Flight 26 on XM, when I drive one of my parents' cars.

dude, 90% of the posts here could be answered like that. RT's salary rides on page hits.

John 26 or 50 the loft, plus there seems to be lots of sirius coming in already.

VERY Important Halloween Question

So I'm going with the geisha girl for Halloween. My question is, what do you call those decorative stick things that go in your hair if you are a geisha?

"Decorative hair sticks" is not a very useful Google search, I have discovered.

My son suggested that I use chopsticks, but that didn't seem very festive.

Japanese hair sticks will get you there, or Japanese hair ornaments.

I don't buy the ruined life part, but I do think it is possible she bought blonde dye and got brown. The Fugee Mom has been dying her hair the same brand and shade as long as I can remember. One time whatever was in the bottle dyed her hair brown and not blonde. She chose to buy another box of dye rather than suing Clairol.

Thanks, I'll check them out.

So far, I like Sirius a lot better than XM. I've listened to a few stations, and I've liked the music on Sirius better, plus, there is less DJ banter on Sirius. And, sad that I know this and have formed an opinion on it, the Sirius kids' station blows away XM's. (Dan Zanes and Laurie Berkner aren't that bad.)

Eeesh, that was a nerve wracking football game. Half the games yesterday seemed to be final second games.

But we're now 1-4, bay-be! One. And. Four. Wooo hoo!

more and more receivers are 6'4" or 6'5" or so, but dbs are still 5'10"-6'. Why aren't there taller dbs? Or even use your tall receivers as goal line dbs.

and you're playing about the only team you could be favored against next week.

Yes, a team whose quarterback is unfamiliar with end-zone boundaries too!

The week after that, we play the Bengels. October could turn out not to be all that bad after all.

Because dbs need reactive skills (and huge verticals), which are found in smaller, quicker athletes. It's a lot easier to make a move when you know exactly where you're supposed to go. DBs need to be able to anticipate routes and, if necessary, make up for mistakes quickly. I would imagine at the goal line, those skills are even more valuable. If you put a tall guy out there on defense, I would counter with my quickest guy and have him cut back and forth until your guy's knees are broken, which wouldn't take long.

We had a similar reaction to the long lines on Saturday. Bleecker Street Pizza was quite tasty though. And I found out I could be eating cherry-dipped ice cream cones on a regular basis if I lived in New York! This is a huge draw! Now I just need to wait for global warming to do away with NY winters and I'm totally there.
