I have dated guys my height. I can't explain why but some part of attraction for me (and I'm sure this holds true for a lot of women) is the feeling that the man is larger than me. I don't know if this is some biological thing or if it has just been taught into our culture, but there it is. 6' has typically been my cut off (though I married a guy who was 5'10" or 5'11") because I want to be able to wear heels without feeling like a giant person.

Instead of blaming me, you could agree that my short friend was wrecking things not just for the tall girls but also for the short guys.

You should look at this guy, Bernie Eccelstone:

I suppose it doesn't hurt that he reportedly is a billionaire.

Isn't he the one embroiled in the "nazi" sex scandal, where he was caught role-playing being beaten by "nazi" nurses? I can see how he might for the height . . .

Don't fight the hypo.

Kiss, touch her tits, handjob. Anything more, and I can't see her complaint.

I don't know if any of ya'll know his work, but John O'Quinn was a pretty big shot in the plaintiff's bar around here. He's probably best known for the breast-implant cases in the 80s and 90s, but he's an all around plaintiff's guy. More money than god, his name is on a shit ton of buildings around town. He also was into cars, and had a collection of about 600 that apparently made Jay Leno jealous.

Anyhow, he and another guy were killed this morning in a one-car accident. The news reports have been pretty coy about the cause of the accident, but it's pretty clear from the pictures of the car that the suburban was going ridiculously fast. Check out the news story and click on the slideshow (no gore, just a very mangled car). They hit the tree so hard that it sliced the car in half through the hood into the passenger compartment. The force of the accident also uprooted the tree. The cops had to cut down the tree in order to be able to tow the suburban away.

That particular stretch of road is a limited access parkway. Speed limit is about 45, and most people go around 55 or 60. It was raining this morning, and the roads were slick. At 8:15, there would have been a fair number of other cars on the road getting into downtown. He must have been going at least 80 miles an hour.

The Houston legal community is sort of shaken but unsurprised, given that a lot of people had seen him drive.

My boyfriend is probably 5'10" ish or so to my 5'7-8" (I'm also a little unsure about the exact height, but it's in that range). I'm taller than him in some shoes, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all.

One of my short cousins married a hot woman about four inches taller than him last fall, causing another of my short cousins to remark "Mike is the Jackie Robinson of short people."

Too bad he wasn't driving his Pope car. I think that Canon Law dictates that if you die in a car crash with a Pope car you go straight to Heaven regardless of moral bearing, like getting baptised on your death bed. RIP. :(

I have no prejudice re: height, although women who are taller than me are harder to do certain dances with, eg salsa, bacchatta, swing, western swing et al., although you can always improvise on the horizontal hokie pokie to make it work. At least I can. :D

I think the height differential thing is more of a hang up for the women than for the men typically. I've never heard a guy complain that his hot model girlfriend was taller than him.

oh, it happens. Remember Nicole Kidman -- "now I can wear heels"?

I've dated a few guys who were my height or shorter who didn't like me to wear heels. Not that it stopped me or anything.

It is easy to hit 100 along that road at night because it is built like a freeway, but he was really working hard to get up any decent speed in morning traffic. No doubt there will be lines of witnesses willing to let the officers know exactly how he got up to that speed.

He always did work hard. But partied even harder. I think Penske would have liked him.

I was called to answer this. So let's see. I can only tell you what I have observed.

It is interesting that people think it must be easier for women to date women than to date men if they are other than what we might consider traditionally attractive. I suppose this is because people think women are less about physical appearances. Some people will even say that a woman who is not typically attractive will choose to be with women because it will be easier. (Not that anyone here is saying that.)

The reality is that it isn't necessarily easier to date as a lesbian. First, women can be plenty picky about other women. They often want the same things that heterosexual men want. Personal ads will frequently read no butch women, no fat women, etc etc. Second, there are of course fewer lesbians from which to choose in the first place. Third in order to date the women have to figure out whether each other are lesbians which is often not the easiest thing in the world to do (though it is getting easier as more people are willing to come out.) This goes back to the second point, it is harder to find women to date in the first place.

I imagine a very tall woman would have similar problems in the lesbian community to those she would have in the straight community for all of the above reasons. As an athlete, just like in the straight community, she might have groupies which might give her more of a chance, I suppose. But in the end, she's simply going to have to find another very tall woman, or someone who likes really tall women, just as she would have to do if she were straight.

But I think most women don't mind dating someone taller. There might be a limit though. For example, I am too short to date a basketball player. Logistically speaking there would be problems. But I have dated women as much as 8 or 9 inches taller.

Jesus. You two can suck the fun out of anything (except a penis, I'm guessing (although I'm sure Hank has tried)).

Stop ruining lesbians for us with your inane drivel!
